Patescibacteriota in soil and rhizosphere
The lineage Patescibacteriota represents a diverse and largely uncultivated bacterial phylum, predominantly reported in oligotrophic habitats but also found in nutrient-rich environments such as soil and the rhizosphere. Although typically present at low relative abundances, these bacteria are increasingly recognised for their important ecological ...

When a master transcription factor (TF) is lost, bacteria can rapidly rewire gene regulatory networks by co‐opting related regulators. Using experimental evolution in Pseudomonas fluorescens, we show that TF promiscuity (low‐level, non‐cognate binding) provides the raw material for rewiring. Successful co‐option follows a predictable hierarchy governed

Through collecting rhizosphere soil sample from a 30-year long-term fixed location test site that use “rice-rice-rape” crop rotation (RRR) and “rice-rice-fallow” continuous cropping systems (RRF), this paper investigated effects of long-term crop ...

Symbiosis of soil and rhizosphere bacteria
The presence of symbiosis between different taxonomic groups of soil and rhizosphere bacteria is shown. In the mixed population, a high titer of active cells and the preservation of antagonistic activity against the phytopathogen were noted.

Resistant Peanut Genotype Reprograms Rhizosphere Metabolism to Enhance Bacterial Wilt Suppression
The resistant peanut genotype selectively recruits beneficial bacteria, which coincides with the activation of salicylic acid (SA)‐dependent systemic acquired resistance (SAR) against Ralstonia solanacearum. Keystone rhizosphere metabolites are positively correlated with both beneficial microbiome assembly and SAR gene expression.

A fluorinated hydrogen‐bonded organic framework nanocarrier (PFC‐1‐F) loaded with PYR and coated with HACC enables multi‐stimuli‐responsive (enzyme/ROS/pH) release at infection sites. Exhibiting targeted antifungal activity against Sclerotium rolfsii, modulating plant antioxidant defense, and demonstrating favorable biosafety across plant, soil, and ...

Structural and Functional Siderophore Remodeling by Enzymatic Delipidation
A surprising functional switch in bacterial siderophores was discovered through genome mining and the analysis of environmental and pathogenic Pandoraea species. Pandorachelin B, a lipocyclopeptide that promotes swarming motility, is cleaved by a specialized acylase, yielding a ring‐contracted, homodetic cyclopeptide, pandorachelin A, which exhibits ...
