The photophysics of rhodamine B
Journal of Photochemistry, 1982Abstract The effects of solvent viscosity and dielectric constant on the photophysics of rhodamine B in its protonated and zwitterion forms were studied. The internal conversion rate is dependent on the S 1 -S 0 energy separation and increases when this gap is lowered through rotation of the diethylamino groups. Comparison is made with rhodamine 640

Application of solutions of Rhodamine B in dosimetry
Applied Radiation and Isotopes, 2014Aqueous solutions of the organic dye Rhodamine B were found to be useful in measuring radiation doses in the range 0.1-2 kGy. Either spectrophotometric or spectrofluorometric measurements can be used. The dosimeter readout is unchanged for at least 60 days after irradiation if the solution is kept in the dark at room temperature.

On the aggregation of rhodamine B in ethanol
Chemical Physics Letters, 1988Abstract The dimer and the trimer aggregation constants of the cationic form of rhodamine B are determined in very concentrated ethanolic solutions of the dye. The absorption spectrum, the geometrical structure and the association bonding of the aggregates are discussed and compared with those previously obtained in aqueous solution.

Molecular forms of rhodamine B
Chemical Physics Letters, 1981Abstract Three molecular forms of rhodamine B (neutral, cationic and cationic-lactonic) in aqueous solutions are reported. The pka of the equilibria between the neutral and cationic forms as well as cationic and cationic-lactonic ones are evaluated.
