Reinstatement of Rhodotorula colostri (Castelli) Lodder and Rhodotorula crocea Shifrine & Phaff, former synonyms of Rhodotorula aurantiaca (Saito) Lodder.

FEMS yeast research, 2004
Rhodotorula aurantiaca (Saito) Lodder is an anamorphic basidiomycetous yeast species that belongs to the so-called "Erythrobasidium lineage" of the Urediniomycetes, according to molecular phylogenetic studies based on nucleotide sequence analyses of different ribosomal DNA regions. In the most recent editions of the yeast taxonomy treatises the species

Rhodotorula rubra - Cause of Eye Infection

Mycoses, 1975
SummaryThe following has been reported herein: The isolation of Rhodotorula rubra from a case of Keratitis. The development of experimental Keratitis in a rabbit by the Rhodotorula, and its re‐isolation from the infected eye. Biosynthese des carotenoides cycliques chez Rhodotorula mucilaginosa et Rhodotorula aurantiaca

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Lipids and Lipid Metabolism, 1968
Abstract The carotenoid compositions of two yeasts Rhodotorula mucilaginosa and Rhodotorula aurantiaca have been examined; acyclic and cyclic pigments were found. Kinetic experiments with resting-cell suspensions were performed to examine the pathway of biosynthesis of the cyclic carotenoids.

Subunits of aldose reductase from Rhodotorula

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Enzymology, 1971
Abstract Gel filtration and sodium dodecyl sulfate—polyacrylamide disc gel electrophoresis indicate that aldose reductase (polyol: NADP + oxidoreductase, EC 1.1.1.21) from Rhodotorula is a dimer with a molecular weight of 61 000. The enzyme may be dissociated into two unequal subunits, only one of which has catalytic activity.

Fettanreicherung in Rhodotorula gracilis

Rhodotorula infirmo-miniata (Okunuki) comb. n.

Antonie van Leeuwenhoek, 1964
Torula infirmo-miniata Okunuki was taxonomically compared withRhodotorula macerans Sonne-Frederiksen. As these two yeasts proved to be very closely related, it is proposed to incorporate both in a new combination,Rhodotorula infirmo-miniata.

Chronic Postoperative Rhodotorula Endophthalmitis

Archives of Ophthalmology, 1992
Rhodotorula is a ubiquitous, airborne, asporogenous yeast that has been cultured from food, air, soil, water, gastrointestinal tracts, and skin. This normally nonpathogenic organism has produced occasional infections in patients with serious underlying illnesses. 1 It is a rare saprophyte of the conjunctiva, cultured, in one study, from only one of 304
