Formation of Sb2O3 microcrystals by Rhodotorula mucilaginosa.

Journal of Hazardous Materials
Antimony (Sb) pollution seriously endangers ecological environment and human health. Microbial induced mineralization can effectively convert metal ions into more stable and less soluble crystalline minerals by extracellular polymeric substance (EPS). In

The mitochondrial respiratory chain from Rhodotorula mucilaginosa, an extremophile yeast.

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Bioenergetics
Rhodotorula mucilaginosa survives extreme conditions through several mechanisms, among them its carotenoid production and its branched mitochondrial respiratory chain (RC).

Rhodotorulic acid production by Rhodotorula mucilaginosa

Mycological Research, 2003
Rhodotorula mucilaginosa produces the siderophore rhodotorulic acid (RA) when grown in iron-limited conditions. R. mucilaginosa grew at rates between 0.10 and 0.19 h(-1) in iron-restricted conditions, depending on the carbon source, and at 0.23 h(-1) in iron-sufficient conditions.

Aortic Homograft Endocarditis Caused by Rhodotorula mucilaginosa

Infection, 2003
Serious infections caused by Rhodotorula spp. are rare and usually occur in immunocompromised people, especially in patients with tumors and long-time use of indwelling central venous catheters. We report a case of Rhodotorula mucilaginosa homograft endocarditis in an otherwise healthy man, which was successfully treated by surgery in combination with ...

TMT-labelled quantitative proteomics reveals the mechanism of Rhodotorula mucilaginosa on proteolysis of dry-cured ham: Structural protein degradation, amino acid release and taste improvement.

Food Chemistry
To investigate the mechanism of Rhodotorula mucilaginosa on structural protein degradation and taste development of Jinhua ham, the effects of Rhodotorula mucilaginosa and Pichia kudriavzevii on proteolytic enzyme activities, surface hydrophobicity ...

Long-chain fatty acid esters produced by Sporidiobolus pararoseus or Rhodotorula mucilaginosa enhance the fat flavor of soy sauce fermented by defatted soybeans.

Food Chemistry
Two unique oleaginous strains, Sporidiobolus pararoseus and Rhodotorula mucilaginosa, were identified during soy sauce fermentation. Both strains demonstrated robust growth under extreme conditions (15 % NaCl, pH 5, 3 % ethanol).

Microbial interactions between Lactoplantibacillus plantarum and Rhodotorula mucilaginosa in the fermented fish juice system.

Food Research International
Lactic acid bacteria and yeasts play important roles in fermented fish products. The present study investigated the interaction between Lactoplantibacillus plantarum and Rhodotorula mucilaginosa in a fermented fish juice system.

Biosynthese des carotenoides cycliques chez Rhodotorula mucilaginosa et Rhodotorula aurantiaca

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Lipids and Lipid Metabolism, 1968
Abstract The carotenoid compositions of two yeasts Rhodotorula mucilaginosa and Rhodotorula aurantiaca have been examined; acyclic and cyclic pigments were found. Kinetic experiments with resting-cell suspensions were performed to examine the pathway of biosynthesis of the cyclic carotenoids.

Exploring the impact of sodium acetate on lipid and carotenoid production in Rhodotorula mucilaginosa

Preparative Biochemistry & Biotechnology
The study employed batch shake flasks to evaluate the impact of various nitrogen sources, phosphate levels, and sodium acetate (Na-acetate) on the Rhodotorula mucilaginosa growth and metabolite production.
