The Pace of Aesthetic Process: A Comparative Approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Traditionally, western theory of art has been equipped with a set of dualisms such as subject-object, artistic process-artistic product, active artist-passive spectator, that has supposed a rejection of a plenary notion of the human integrated with ...

PFKM‐Driven Lactate Overproduction Promotes Atrial Fibrillation via Triggering Cardiac Fibroblasts Histone Lactylation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The upregulation of PFKM activates glycolysis, thereby enhancing lactate production in atrial tissue. Atrial lactate accumulation promotes global lactylation and H3K18 lactylation in atrial fibroblasts. P300‐mediated H3K18 lactylation up‐regulates TGF‐β1 transcription, leading to fibroblast activation and thereby contributing to atrial fibrosis.

Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction: An alternative paradigm to explain the clinical implications of atrial fibrillation

open access: yesHeart Rhythm O2, 2021
Atrial fibrillation (AF) is associated with exercise intolerance, stroke, and all-cause mortality. However, whether this can be solely attributable to the arrhythmia itself or alternative mechanisms remains controversial.

Integrative Approach - New Level Knowledge of Functions: Opportunities and Prospects [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In this article, the example of the mechanisms of heart rhythmogenesis in the intact organism is used to demonstrate the new capabilities provided by an integrative approach. It is shown that the rhythm is formed in the brain, transmitted to the heart in

Generation of Neural Organoids and Their Application in Disease Modeling and Regenerative Medicine

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Neural organoids provide a versatile platform for neurological research. Advances in organoid technology have partially achieved human neural tissue complexity in terms of tissue structure, cell diversity, and neural signaling, offering insights into neural disorders and regenerative strategies. Technology advances from biomaterials, bio‐manufacturing,

Activation of Kir4.1 Channels by 2‐D08 Promotes Myelin Repair in Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Multiple sclerosis causes myelin loss and neurological dysfunction. This study shows that 2‐D08, a small molecule targeting Kir4.1 channels, promotes OPCs differentiation via FYN tyrosine kinase phosphorylation and the FYN/MYRF pathway. It significantly improves myelin repair and motor deficits in EAE mice and marmosets, highlighting its potential as a

A Touch Enabled Hemodynamic and Metabolic Monitor

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work presents a touch‐based hybrid platform for simultaneous monitoring of vital signs and sweat metabolites. With a simple tri‐finger touch of 4–6 min, users can concurrently get to know their glucose, uric acid, cortisol levels from fingertip sweat, along with blood pressure and heart rate.
