Messenger Ribonucleoprotein Particles

1982
Messenger RNA, from the time of its synthesis in the nucleus through its translation and degradation, does not exist as free RNA in animal cells but rather always appear to be complexed with proteins. Free cytoplasmic ribonucleoprotein (RNP) particles containing non-ribosomal RNA were discovered by Spirin and coworkers (1) in 1964 and were called ...

The Phlebovirus Ribonucleoprotein: An Overview

In negative strand RNA viruses, ribonucleoproteins, not naked RNA, constitute the template used by the large protein endowed with polymerase activity for replicating and transcribing the viral genome. Here we give an overview of the structures and functions of the ribonucleoprotein from phleboviruses.

Ribonucleoprotein of Clostridium perfringens (BP6K)

Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 1953
Abstract A procedure has been presented for the isolation and purification of the ribonucleoprotein from lyophilized Clostridium perfringens (BP6K) cells. Separation of the ribonucleoprotein from the desoxyribonucleoprotein was effected by extracting the lyophilized cells with 0.14 M NaCl. The amino acid composition of the purified nucleoprotein was
