Exact Solutions for Differential-Difference Equations by Bäcklund Transformation of Riccati Equation
Based on a Bäcklund transformation of the Riccati equation and its known soliton solutions, we obtain in this paper some exact traveling-wave solutions, including triangle function solutions and hyperbolic function solutions, of a hybrid lattice equation.

On the Bilinear Transformation of Riccati Equations
IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 1986The algebraic Riccati equation (ARE) plays an important role in optimal control and Kalman filtering using a quadratic performance index. To the well-known continuous type algebraic Riccati equations (CARE) a discrete type algebraic Riccati equation (DARE) has been developed resulting in solutions equal to CARE.

Similarity Transformation and Algebraic Riccati Equations
Proceedings of the 45th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2006In this tutorial paper, a close relationship is established between algebraic Riccati equations and similarity transform. Some results about algebraic Riccati equations are interpreted here using similarity transformations and block diagrams are introduced to represent the stabilising solutions of algebraic Riccati equations.

The Riccati Transformation in the Solution of Boundary Value Problems
SIAM Journal on Numerical Analysis, 1986The multiple shooting method and stabilized march have long been advocated for solving boundary value problems, even though certain difficulties arise for problems with rapidly increasing and decreasing fundamental solution components. We interpret these difficulties in terms of stability of the underlying problem and describe the stabilized march in ...

Oscillation of Semilinear Elliptic Inequalities by Riccati Transformations
Canadian Journal of Mathematics, 1980A generalized Riccati transformation will be utilized to derive a Riccati-type inequality (3) associated with a semilinear elliptic inequality yL(y; x) ≦ 0 possessing a positive solution y in an exterior domain in Euclidean n-space. On the basis of (3), general sufficient conditions for the elliptic inequality to be oscillatory are developed in § 3 ...

The Cauchy-Floquet factorization by successive Riccati transformations
2002 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems. Proceedings (Cat. No.02CH37353), 2003Scalar linear time-varying systems are addressed. In particular, a new factorization method for the associated scalar polynomial system differential operator is presented. It differs from the classical results due to Cauchy and Floquet, in that it is based upon successive Riccati transformations of the Frobenius companion system matrix.
