Removing scalar curvature assumption for Ricci flow smoothing

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, EarlyView.
Abstract In recent work of Chan–Huang–Lee, it is shown that if a manifold enjoys uniform bounds on (a) the negative part of the scalar curvature, (b) the local entropy, and (c) volume ratios up to a fixed scale, then there exists a Ricci flow for some definite time with estimates on the solution assuming that the local curvature concentration is small ...

The RhoA guanine exchange factor ABR: a glucose‐sensitive mediator of actin reorganization in feto‐placental arterial endothelial cells altered by gestational diabetes mellitus

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Schematic representation of proposed relationship between hyperglycaemia, gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), active BCR‐related (ABR), RhoA and actin organization of feto‐placental arterial endothelial cells (fpEC). Hyperglycaemia upregulates ABR, which in turn increases RhoA activation.

Determining properties of human‐induced pluripotent stem cell‐derived cardiomyocytes using spatially resolved electromechanical metrics

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend In this study, we use human‐induced pluripotent stem cell‐derived cardiomyocyte (hiPSC‐CM) experiments and computational modelling to identify the mechanism of action of drug compounds. In the hiPSC‐CM experiments, optical measurements of cell collections are recorded in the baseline case and after drug exposure.

On the isoperimetric Riemannian Penrose inequality

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, Volume 78, Issue 5, Page 1042-1085, May 2025.
Abstract We prove that the Riemannian Penrose inequality holds for asymptotically flat 3‐manifolds with nonnegative scalar curvature and connected horizon boundary, provided the optimal decay assumptions are met, which result in the ADM$\operatorname{ADM}$ mass being a well‐defined geometric invariant.

Eigenvalue of (p,q)-Biharmonic System along the Ricci Flow

open access: yesAxioms
In this paper, we determine the variation formula for the first eigenvalue of (p,q)-biharmonic system on a closed Riemannian manifold. Several monotonic quantities are also derived.

A complete workflow from embalmed specimens to life‐like 3D virtual models for veterinary anatomy teaching

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, Volume 246, Issue 5, Page 857-868, May 2025.
This study introduces a workflow using the Liverpool‐Whitwell embalming protocol and photogrammetry to create realistic 3D digital models from veterinary specimens. These models, enhanced with digital tools and stored in a cloud repository, are integrated into the University of Liverpool's Virtual Learning Environment, offering remote access to high ...

Moringa oleifera Extracts as Strategic Phyto‐Therapy for Alzheimer's Disease

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 13, Issue 4, April 2025.
Moringa oleifera green extraction with water leads to a high polyphenols yield. Both, high and room temperature extracts, inhibit amyloid beta‐peptide fibril formation. Room temperature extract protects from typical Alzheimer's disease cell alterations. ABSTRACT In the last decades, plant extracts have received great attention.
