OsCpn60β1 is Essential for Chloroplast Development in Rice (Oryza sativa L.) [PDF]
The chaperonin 60 (Cpn60) protein is of great importance to plants due to its involvement in modulating the folding of numerous chloroplast protein polypeptides. In chloroplasts, Cpn60 is differentiated into two subunit types—Cpn60α and Cpn60β and the rice genome encodes three α and three β plastid chaperonin subunits.

ABSTRACT Background and Objectives Whole‐grain (brown) rice has superior nutritional quality but is prone to rancidity, primarily caused by endogenous lipases and oxidases. This study evaluated mild hydrothermal stabilization (MHS), comprising grain surface wetting, followed by short‐duration atmospheric‐pressure steaming, applied to two West African ...

Cross-species bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) library screening via overgo-based hybridization and BAC-contig mapping of a yield enhancement quantitative trait locus (QTL) yld1.1 in the Malaysian wild rice Oryza rufipogon [PDF]
The construction of BAC-contig physical maps is an important step towards a partial or ultimate genome sequence analysis. Here, we describe our initial efforts to apply an overgo approach to screen a BAC library of the Malaysian wild rice species, Oryza ...

The 3D‐printed MFCs in paddies during rice cultivation generated a maximum power density of 26 µW/m2 within 3 days via a series–parallel configuration and theoretically reduced methane by 0.012–0.016 kg for 1 m2 of land use through an LCA based on existing methane reduction data in rice paddies.

ABSTRACT Rice (Oryza sativa L.) is a vital staple crop for nearly half the world's population. This study investigates the levels of aflatoxins (AFB1, AFB2, AFG1, and AFG2) and selected heavy metals (Cd, Pb, and Cr) and essential elements (Mn, Fe, Mg, Cu, and Zn) in rice varieties cultivated in Fogera, Amhara Region, Ethiopia.
