THE OPTIMIZATION OF PRODUCTION ZEOLITE Y CATALYST FROM RHA BY RESPONSE SURFACE METHODOLOGY [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Rice husk is the milling byproduct of rice and is a major waste product of the agriculture industry. Amorphous silica, commonly referred to as rice husk ash, was extracted from rice husk by acid leaching, pyrolysis, and carbon-removing processes.

Nutritional and functional properties of coloured rice varieties of South India: a review

open access: yesJournal of Ethnic Foods, 2019
Rice is a major cereal food crop and staple food in most of the developing countries. India stands second in the production of rice next to China. Though almost 40,000 varieties of rice are said to exist, at present, only a few varieties are cultivated ...

Cyclo‐N9−: a Novel 5/6 Fused Polynitrogen Anion for High Energy Density Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a novel 5/6 fused polynitrogen anion, cyclo‐N9−, which is assembled with four cations to form energetic salts. The computational results reveal that the energy densities and detonation performances of these systems are far superior, even surpassing those of CL‐20.

Closing yield gaps for rice self-sufficiency in China

open access: yesNature Communications, 2019
China produces 28% of global rice supply and is currently self-sufficient despite a massive rural-to-urban demographic transition that drives intense competition for land and water resources.

Pupylation‐Based Proximity Labeling Unravels a Comprehensive Protein and Phosphoprotein Interactome of the Arabidopsis TOR Complex

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The target of rapamycin (TOR) complex is a central plant growth regulator. Here, the protein–protein interactions underlying its various functions are mapped by pupylation‐based proximity‐labeling in Arabidopsis, using TOR complex subunits LST8‐1 and RAPTOR1, alongside TOR inhibitor FK506‐binding protein, as baits.

Rapid and Scalable Halosulfonylation of Strain‐Release Reagents**

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 135, Issue 3, January 16, 2023., 2023
A one‐pot halosulfonylation of strained hydrocarbons is described that proceeds under practical, scalable and mild conditions. Sulfonyl halides featuring aryl, heteroaryl and alkyl substituents are generated in situ from sulfinate salts and convenient halogen atom sources. This chemistry enables the synthesis of an array of halogen/sulfonyl‐substituted

Effects of storage temperature and duration on the milling properties of rice [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
To maximize rice quality, it is essential to quantify the various factors that affect milling properties of rice. Rice aging, a process during which rice undergoes a series of chemical and physicochemical changes, affects head rice yield (HRY) and the ...

A novel integrated method for large-scale detection, identification, and quantification of widely targeted metabolites: application in the study of rice metabolomics.

open access: yesMolecular Plant, 2013
Liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS)-based metabolomics has been facilitated by the construction of MS(2) spectral tag (MS2T) library from the total scan ESI MS/MS data, and the development of widely targeted metabolomics method using MS/MS ...

Protease‐Mediated Synthesis of Zein Nanofibrils: From Structural Elucidation to Functional Application

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The globular shape and hydrophobicity of zein made it unsuitable to be processed in pure aqueous environment. Pepsin‐mediated hydrolysis converts zein into water‐soluble and fibril‐forming peptides with a bioconversion rate exceeding 70%, enabling the self‐assembly of amyloid‐like nanofibrils.
