GENETIC BEHAVIOR FOR MOMILACTONE B IN SOME LINES AND THEIR HYBRIDS OF RICE [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural Chemistry and Biotechnology, 2012
The allelopathy-competition separation (ACS) based approach was used to explore the biointerferance relationship between rice accessions and barnyardgrass exposed to different nitrogen (N) supplies in hydroponics.

Impact of Environmentally Relevant Concentrations of Glyphosate and 2,4-D Commercial Formulations on Nostoc sp. N1 and Oryza sativa L. Rice Seedlings

open access: yesFrontiers in Sustainable Food Systems, 2021
Wide applications of glyphosate and 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) in rice paddy fields could lead to their residues in environment, posing adverse effects on rice growth and primary producers in the rice ecosystem.

Exploring the Induction Mechanism of Chitosan Oligosaccharide on the Cold Resistance of Rice Seedlings by Proteomic Technology [PDF]

open access: yesZhipu Xuebao, 2023
Rice seedlings are highly sensitive to low temperature. Therefore it is imperative to apply new biopesticides, e.g. chitosan oligosaccharides in rice production to help rice resist low temperature stress.

Aspects of Nitrogen Metabolism in the Rice Seedling [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Physiology, 1976
The effects of nitrogen source NO(3) (-) or NH(4) (+) on nitrogen metabolism during the first 2 weeks of germination of the rice seedling (Oryza sativa L., var. IR22) grown in nutrient solution containing 40 mug/ml N were studied. Total, soluble protein, and free amino N levels were higher in the NH(4) (+)-grown seedling, particularly during the 1st ...

Nondwarf Rice Seedling Bioassay for Gibberellins [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Physiology, 1992
The use of nondwarf rice (Oryza sativa L.) cultivars treated with uniconazole as test plants for gibberellin (GA) bioassay instead of Tan-ginbozu dwarf rice variant was investigated. The sensitivity of six nondwarf rice cultivars to GAs was increased substantially by treatment of the seeds with uniconazole.

Importance of controlling mesocotyl elongation in the development of rice seedlings intended for mechanical transplantation

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2023
The mesocotyl facilities the emergence of deep-sown rice. However, the effects of mesocotyl elongation on mechanically transplanted rice seedlings remain unclear.

Seed Priming Improved Antioxidant Defense System and Alleviated Ni-Induced Adversities in Rice Seedlings Under N, P, or K Deprivation

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2020
Excess nickel (Ni) concentration in the growing medium severely hampers the plant growth by disturbing oxidative metabolism and nutrient status. The present study was carried out to investigate the individual and interactive effects of Ni toxicity (0.25 ...

Control of Bacterial Seedling Rot and Seedling Blight of Rice by Bacteriophage [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Disease, 2012
In Japan, rice seed are immersed in pesticide solutions to prevent seedborne diseases that attack greenhouse seedlings. However, disposal of large quantities of waste pesticide solutions after treatment is costly. As an alternative treatment, bacteriophages (phages) that are highly specific to the target bacteria are considered as potential biocontrol
