Abstract Boro rice (Oryza sativa L.) plays a crucial role in ensuring food security in Bangladesh, yet its productivity is challenged by recurring insect pest and disease outbreaks. This study analyzed 5 years (2019–2023) of data to assess the temporal patterns of insect pest and disease outbreaks in Boro rice cultivation in Bangladesh and evaluate the

Current plant disease detection systems often overlook botanical expertise, limiting diagnostic accuracy. We propose SwiftM, a novel framework that integrates plant anatomical knowledge into deep learning through botanical knowledge distillation, structure‐aware graph representation and sparse attention over botanical graphs.

Hybrid AI Model With CNNs and Vision Transformers for Precision Pest Classification in Crops
This study proposes a hybrid deep learning model integrating CNNs, attention mechanisms, and Vision Transformers for accurate classification of five major rice crop pests. The model captures both fine‐grained local features and global spatial relationships, achieving a high accuracy of 95% on an augmented dataset.

Characterization of a protein from Rice tungro spherical virus with serine proteinase-like activity
The RNA genome of Rice tungro spherical virus (RTSV) is predicted to be expressed as a large polyprotein precursor (Shen et al., Virology 193, 621–630, 1993 ). The polyprotein is processed by at least one virus-encoded protease located adjacent to the C-terminal putative RNA polymerase which shows sequence similarity to viral serine-like proteases. The

Future flooding tolerant rice germplasm: Resilience afforded beyond Sub1A gene
Abstract Developing high‐yielding, flood‐tolerant rice (Oryza sativa L.) varieties is essential for enhancing productivity and livelihoods in flood‐prone ecologies. We explored genetic avenues beyond the well‐known SUB1A gene to improve flood resilience in rice.
