Kinetics of enzymatic hydrolysis of methyl ricinoleate

open access: yesGrasas y Aceites, 2015
Ricinoleic acid is an unsaturated hydroxy fatty acid that naturally occurs in castor oil in proportions of up to 85–90%. Ricinoleic acid is a potential raw material and finds several applications in coatings, lubricant formulations and pharmaceutical ...

The Incorporation of Ricinoleic Acid into Rat Lymph Lipids

open access: yesExperimental Biology and Medicine, 1969
One milliliter of ricinoleic acid, triricinolein, or methyl ricinoleate was administered by gastric intubation to thoracic duct-cannulated rats. The lymph was collected over a 48-hr period, the lipids extracted from it, and separated into the various lipid classes by a combination of ion exchange and silicic acid and thin-layer chromatography.

A Note on the Preparation of Ricinoleic Acid by Urea Complexing

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacy and Pharmacology, 1963
Abstract Some fatty acids were separated from hydrolysed castor oil by successive additions of urea. The method was utilised to prepare ricinoleic acid of B.P. 1948 standard from castor oil.

Peroxisomal β-oxidation and Production of γ-decalactone by the Yeast Rhodotorula aurantiaca

open access: yesNotulae Botanicae Horti Agrobotanici Cluj-Napoca, 2010
γ-Decalactone is a fruity aroma compound resulting from the peroxisomal β-oxidation of ricinoleic acid by yeasts. During the β-oxidation of fatty acids, the acyl-CoA oxidase and thioesterase play an important role. In R.
