Serosurvey of Rickettsia typhi and Rickettsia felis in HIV‐infected patients [PDF]
ABSTRACTConsistent with the effects of HIV on cell‐mediated immunity, an increased susceptibility to intracellular microorganisms has been observed. Rickettsiae are obligate intracellular microorganisms. The aim of this study was to examine Rickettsia typhi and Rickettsia felis infections in HIV+ population.

Genomic evolution and adaptation of arthropod-associated Rickettsia
International audienceRickettsia species are endosymbionts hosted by arthropods and are known to cause mild to fatal diseases in humans. Here, we analyse the evolution and diversity of 34 Rickettsia species using a pangenomic meta-analysis (80 genomes/41

ABSTRACT A 1‐year‐old female‐intact arctic fox (Vulpes lagopus) presented for diarrhea, lethargy, severe thrombocytopenia, and hyperbilirubinemia. Blood film evaluation revealed intracytoplasmic coccoid bacteria within moderate numbers of leukocytes consistent with infection by a rickettsial organism.
