Ridge regression revisited [PDF]
We argue in this paper that general ridge (GR) regression implies no major complication compared with simple ridge regression. We introduce a generalization of an explicit GR estimator derived by Hemmerle and by Teekens and de Boer and show that this ...

Elephant‐skin‐inspired crack networks are programmed in porous diatomaceous earth (DE)‐cement composites using substrate‐guided, stress‐concentration induced fracture. The resulting crack lattices act as capillary conduits that redistribute water, while the porous matrix stores moisture.

Special ridge-type estimator: Simulation and application to chemical data
This study delves into regularization techniques, such as ridge regression, Liu estimator, and Kibria–Lukman estimator, as alternatives to the maximum likelihood method for addressing multicollinearity in beta regression models.

An Aloe‐pinspired droplet electricity generator (A‐DEG) overcomes the limited energy collection zone of conventional DEGs by guiding impact droplets through a channeling midrib and artificial cuticle. The channeling midrib induces uni‐directional droplet spreading, while the artificial cuticle on the midrib further reinforces this behavior through its ...

The efficiency of modified jackknife and ridge type regression estimators: a comparison [PDF]
A common problem in multiple regression models is multicollinearity, which produces undesirable effects on the least squares estimator. To circumvent this problem, two well known estimation procedures are often suggested in the literature.

Ridge Estimators for Distributed Lag Models [PDF]
The paper explains how the Almon polynominal lag specification can be made stochastic in two different ways - one suggested by Shiller and another following the lines of Lindley and Smith.

Laser‐Assisted Phase Engineering of 2D MoS2 for Efficient Solution‐Processed Electronics
Here, local laser‐assisted phase transition from solution‐processed phase‐pure 1T′ to 2H MoS2 is shown to critically depend on the irradiation atmosphere. While processing in air leads to damaged insulating regions, inert conditions yield semiconducting 2H domains, enabling direct field‐effect transistor patterning with optimized lateral 1T′‐2H MoS2 ...

High‐Performance, Paper‐Based Microelectronics via a Micromodular Fabrication Process
This study demonstrates high‐performance silicon micromodular transistors on cellulose nanomaterial‐coated paper, with interconnects formed via e‐jet printing. Transistors exhibit excellent electrical properties and maintain performance under applied strain.

A Note on The Moments of Stochastic Shrinkage Parameters in Ridge Regression [PDF]
A common problem in econometric models and multiple regression in general is multicollinearity, which produces undesirable effects on the Least Squares estimators.
