Thermo Gravimetric Analysis of Ridge Gourd Natural Fabric Reinforcement

Journal of Reinforced Plastics and Composites, 2006
The natural bilayer fabric of ridge gourd vegetable belonging to the Cucurbitaceae family is treated with 2% aqueous NaOH solution. The primary thermograms of the fibers from this natural fabric of both the layers (top and bottom) before and after alkali treatment are recorded in an inert atmosphere at a heating rate of 10C/min. Using these thermograms,

Properties of ligno-cellulosic bilayered vegetable fabric from ridge gourd

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 2006
AbstractThe two layers of bilayered vegetable fabric from ridge gourd were analyzed by FTIR, chemical, X‐ray, and thermogravimetric methods before and after alkali treatment. The morphology of the fabrics in the two layers, before and after alkali treatment, was also studied using SEM technique.
