The Serre duality theorem for Reimann surfaces
Given a Riemann surface S, there exists a finitely generated Fuchsian group G of the first kind acting on the upper half plane U, such that S≅U/G. This isomorphism makes it possible to use Fuchsian group methods to prove theorems about Riemann surfaces ...

Dispersive Wave Focusing in Shoaling Water With Currents
Abstract A methodology creating dispersive focusing waves on constant depth, originally proposed by Rapp and Melville (1990), https://doi.org/10.1098/rsta.1990.0098, has provided a wide range of applications studying nonlinear waves, wave breaking, and rogue waves in the open ocean.

Higher genus polylogarithms on families of Riemann surfaces
We construct polylogarithms on families of pointed Riemann surfaces of any genus which describe monodromies of nilpotent meromorphic connections with simple poles on these families.

Three-form periods on Calabi-Yau fourfolds: toric hypersurfaces and F-theory applications
The study of the geometry of Calabi-Yau fourfolds is relevant for compactifications of string theory, M-theory, and F-theory to various dimensions. This work introduces the mathematical machinery to derive the complete moduli dependence of the periods of

Can Flash Flood Risk Index Be an Early Warning Signal of Flash Floods in Ungauged Basin?
ABSTRACT Flash flooding is amongst the most severe natural hazards, causing widespread socioeconomic impacts across both wet regions and drylands. In ungauged mountainous basins, effective risk warning based on hydrodynamic modelling is challenging due to sparse hydrological observations and complex terrain.

A Cascaded Lattice Boltzmann Model for Porous and Multi‐Layer Shallow Water Flows
ABSTRACT The work proposes the development of a Lattice Boltzmann (LB) Cascaded collision operator (CO) model with two unexplored main purposes: reproducing the dynamics of multilayer shallow water flows and modeling urban floods with a porosity approach.

The quantum Batalian-Vilkovisky master action for closed string field theory consists of kinetic term and infinite number of interaction terms. The interaction strengths (coupling constants) are given by integrating the off-shell string measure over the ...

Quasi‐Fuchsian flows and the coupled vortex equations
Abstract We provide an alternative construction of the quasi‐Fuchsian flows introduced by Ghys. Our approach is based on the coupled vortex equations that allows to see these flows as thermostats on the unit tangent bundle of the Blaschke metric, uniquely determined by a conformal class and a holomorphic quadratic differential.

A Parametric Method of Finding Accessory Parameters for the Generalized Schwarz--Christoffel Integrals [PDF]
An approximate method of finding accessory parameters for the generalized Schwarz--Christoffel integrals has been suggested. The integrals provide conformal mappings of a half-plane onto the polygonal Riemann surfaces with inner branch points. The method
