Boundary Controllability and Observability of a Viscoelastic String [PDF]
In this paper we consider an integrodifferential system, which governs the vibration of a viscoelastic one-dimensional object. We assume that we can act on the system at the boundary and we prove that it is possible to control both the position and the ...

Quasicompact and Riesz unital endomorphisms of real Lipschitz algebras of complex-valued functions [PDF]
We first show that a bounded linear operator $ T $ on a real Banach space $ E $ is quasicompact (Riesz, respectively) if and only if $T': E_{mathbb{C}}longrightarrow E_{mathbb{C}}$ is quasicompact (Riesz, respectively), where the complex Banach space ...

Topologies and projections on Riesz spaces [PDF]
Introduction. Among the various questions about topologies on Riesz spaces, there is a particularly important one which arises out of Daniell's work on integration. The present paper will be centered around this question, but will not be confined to it.

ABSTRACT In this second part of our series of papers, we develop an abstract framework suitable for de Rham complexes that depend on a parameter belonging to an arbitrary Banach space. Our primary focus is on spectral perturbation problems and the differentiability of eigenvalues with respect to perturbations of the involved parameters. As a byproduct,

Maximum principle and numerical method for the multi-term time–space Riesz–Caputo fractional differential equations [PDF]
The maximum principle for the space and time–space fractional partial differential equations is still an open problem. In this paper, we consider a multi-term time–space Riesz–Caputo fractional differential equations over an open bounded domain.

On functional reproducing kernels
We show that even if a Hilbert space does not admit a reproducing kernel, there could still be a kernel function that realizes the Riesz representation map.

ABSTRACT This paper develops a mathematical framework for interpreting observations of solar inertial waves in an idealized setting. Under the assumption of purely toroidal linear waves on the sphere, the stream function of the flow satisfies a fourth‐order scalar equation.

Functions of Bounded κφ-Variation in the Sense of Riesz-Korenblum
We present the space of functions of bounded κφ-variation in the sense of Riesz-Korenblum, denoted by κBVφ[a,b], which is a combination of the notions of bounded φ-variation in the sense of Riesz and bounded κ-variation in the sense of Korenblum ...

Well‐Posedness and Analyticity of Solutions to the Stationary MHD Equations
ABSTRACT We consider the stationary problem of the MHD equations in R3$\mathbb {R}^3$. The aim of this article is to show existence, uniqueness, regularity, and analyticity of solutions in the scaling invariant homogeneous Besov space Ḃp,q−1+3/p$\dot{B}^{-1 + 3/p}_{p, q}$ for 1⩽p<3$1 \leqslant p < 3$ and 1⩽q⩽∞$1 \leqslant q \leqslant \infty$.
