Exchange biasing of single-domain Ni nanoparticles spontaneously grown in an antiferromagnetic MnO matrix [PDF]
Exchange biased composites of ferromagnetic single-domain Ni nanoparticles embedded within large grains of MnO have been prepared by reduction of Ni$_x$Mn$_{1-x}$O$_4$ phases in flowing hydrogen.

RIETVELD REFINEMENT OF SYNTHETIC MONOCLINIC NaBSiO4 [PDF]
A full-pattern X-ray powder-diffraction refinement reveals that NaBSiO4 prepared at 6 GPa and 700°C crystallizes in space group P21/n with the structure of beryllonite, NaBePO4. With a 7.9845(5), b 7.6969(5), c 13.9432(9) A, 90.081(6)° and V 856.89(2) A 3 , NaBSiO4 has the smallest unit-cell volume of all known compounds with the beryllonite structure.

A Cu2+ (S = 1/2) Kagom\'e Antiferromagnet: MgxCu4-x(OH)6Cl2 [PDF]
Spin-frustrated systems are one avenue for inducing macroscopic quantum states in materials. However, experimental realization of this goal has been difficult because of the lack of simple materials and, if available, the separation of the unusual ...

New features on yttria‐stabilized zirconia after exposure at 1500°C: Newly discovered pyramidal structures on an old material. After exposure at 1550°C on the cross section of YSZ new features, namely pyramidal structures are discovered. These structures grow with time, increase in numbers, appear as singularities, are often arranged in strings, and ...

Heavily Boron Doped Diamond Powder: Synthesis and Rietveld Refinement
Boron-doped diamonds were synthesized by the reaction of an amorphous globular carbon powder (80%) with a powder of 1,7-di (oxymethyl)-M-carborane (20%) in a ‘toroid’-type high-pressure chamber at a pressure of 8.0 GPa and temperature of 1700

Analysis and evaluation of structural properties of Co3O4 microparticles obtained at low temperature
In the present research, the synthesis of cobalt oxide Co3O4 was carried out using the sol-gel technique with subsequent heat treatment at 225 and 235 °C. The final product obtained was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), showing a pure crystalline

Microstructure Design of Steel‐Spinel Composites via Spark Plasma Sintering Process
This study illustrates how spark plasma sintering at reduced oxygen partial pressure enables controlled formation of steel‐spinel composites through tailored redox reactions and cation exchange. Comparison of the MgO–Fe2O3, steel–(MgO+Cr2O3), and steel–(MgO+Fe2O3) systems shows how oxygen activity and interface chemistry govern spinel formation, phase ...
