NEW INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND ITS CAPACITIES FOR MODELING OF GEOSYSTEMS

open access: yesГеодинамика и тектонофизика, 2015
Numerical solution of the Navier-Stokes equations for free and forced convection in solid and porous media is challenging as an evolution equation for pressure is lacking. An information technology is proposed on the basis of a new system of hydrodynamic

Isotope geochemistry and petrogenesis of peralkaline Middle Miocene ignimbrites from central Sonora: relationship with continental break-up and the birth of the Gulf of California [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Middle Miocene peralkaline ignimbrites constitute a specific geodynamic marker of the early stage of opening of the Gulf of California, preserved either in central Sonora or the Puertecitos area, in Baja California.

Evidence From Microscopy and U–Pb Geochronology as a Clue to the Influence of the Cretaceous Magmatism in the Diagenesis of Pre‐Salt Carbonate Reservoirs in the Santos Basin (Brazil)

open access: yesGeological Journal, EarlyView.
Carbonates from Santos Basin revealed U–Pb ages correlated with basalt ages (A), suggesting that they were formed during magmatic events. These events placed hot CO2 in the reservoir, which, when mixed with carbonate‐rich cold water (B), led to thermal convection, enabling the formation of the U contained in the carbonates.

PREDICTED SEDIMENTARY SECTION OF SUBGLACIAL LAKE VOSTOK

open access: yesЛëд и снег, 2015
In early February 2012, the drill hole at the Vostok Station encountered theLakeVostokwater. This step is important to study the lake composition including possible microbial life and to model subglacial environments however, the next ambitious target of

Relevance of Management Science in the One Health Paradigm

open access: yesThe International Journal of Health Planning and Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The One Health paradigm recognises the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health, calling for collaborative and cross‐sectoral responses to increasingly complex health threats. However, operationalising this vision requires more than biomedical or ecological knowledge.

Petrology, geochemistry and tectonic setting of alkaline mafic rocks in the Jalal Abad area in the NW of Zarand (Kerman Province): Evidence for Paleo-Tethys rifting in the Central Iran [PDF]

open access: yesپترولوژی, 2018
The Jalal Abad region lies within the southern sector of Posht Badam block near to Jalal Abad, Najaf Abad iron deposits. In this region, several mafic intrusions and associated dyke and sills were intruded within the volcano-sedimentary unit of Rizu ...

Host-feeding patterns of Aedes (Aedimorphus) vexans arabiensis, a Rift Valley Fever virus vector in the Ferlo pastoral ecosystem of Senegal [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Background: Host-vector contact is a key factor in vectorial capacity assessment and thus the transmission of mosquito-borne viruses such as Rift Valley Fever (RVF), an emerging zoonotic disease of interest in West Africa.

Immersive Virtual Reality and Deliberate Practice for Complex Skills Acquisition During Inferior Alveolar Nerve Block Training

open access: yesJournal of Dental Education, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction This study aimed to determine construct and transfer validity of a virtual reality inferior alveolar nerve (VRIAN) injection simulation to improve the technique of inferior alveolar nerve block (IANB) delivery for novice students. Methods Second year dental students (n = 44) were randomized into VR and control groups. At baseline (

Evidence of Fluid Induced Earthquake Swarms From High Resolution Earthquake Relocation in the Main Ethiopian Rift

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, 2023
Fluid overpressure and fluid migration are known to be able to trigger or induce fault slip. However, relatively little is known about the role of fluids on generating earthquakes in some of the major continental rifts.
