A 2-year-old child had an abdominal mass, a systolic murmur, and electrocardiographic evidence of right atrial overload. An intravenous pyelogram and an inferior vena cavagram demonstrated a Wilms tumor of the right kidney with vena caval obstruction. At operation a caval thrombus could not be dislodged from the abdomen and required a right atriotomy ...

The electrically silent right atrium
Journal of Electrocardiology, 1970Summary An electrically silent atrium unresponsive to atrial pacing has not been previously reported. Two patients with this phenomenon form the subject of this report. In one patient, return of spontaneous atrial activity was noted, while the second patient has remained unchanged after a several month follow-up.

AbstractA 66‐year‐old asymptomatic woman was admitted to our hospital with the diagnosis of a right atrial mass detected on an outside transthoracic echocardiogram and confirmed on transesophageal echocardiography. Physical examination and basal electrocardiogram were normal.

Right atrium (RA) has been a neglected heart chamber for long time. Only recently, the recognition of its role in assisting right ventricular filling, the demonstration of the predictive value of RA size in various pathological conditions, and the identification of the RA as a target and transit chamber for many interventional procedures have raised ...

Cardiac Lymphangioma in the Right Atrium
The Annals of Thoracic Surgery, 2013A 66-year-old woman was admitted for heart failure. The patient complained of exertional dyspnea that had worsened over the past 3 months. Transthoracic echocardiography showed a turbulent blood flow to the right ventricle and a mild tricuspid regurgitation, caused by an almost transparent mass in the right atrium. A peduncle through which the mass was

Right Atrium and Right Ventricle
2016Uptake of SPECT MPI radiopharmaceuticals within the thin-walled right atrium itself, and more focally within the right auricular appendage, is normal. Avid uptake within the right ventricular free wall, particularly when associated with a flattened septum and D-shaped left ventricle, is consistent with pulmonary hypertension and RV hypertrophy ...

The right atrium (RA) is the right upper chamber of the heart and is located above the RV (Fig. 3.1). After the pericardium is opened, the lateral free wall can be seen directly (Fig. 3.2). The free wall is the common area for cannulation and surgical approaches into the heart. The vena cava orifices, aortic sinus, and LA are located around the RA (Fig.

False Aneurysm of the Right Atrium
Chest, 1979A false aneurysm of the right atrium is described. The false aneurysm appeared after open-heart surgery and was probably related to loosening of a right atrial suture. Because of the low pressure in the right atrium, the danger of rupture seemed to be low, and conservative therapy was chosen.

The divisions of the atrium: (A) From a spatial viewpoint, the right atrium may be divided into lateral, inferior, medial, and posterior walls. The medial wall is subdivided into posteromedial (or septal) and anteromedial portions. (B) From an embryologic viewpoint, the right atrium may be divided into two parts.
