Right atrial myxoma in a 65-year-old female: A rare presentation

open access: yesMedical Journal of Dr. D.Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, 2018
Primary tumors of the heart are quite rare found in 0.04% of autopsies. In decreasing order of frequency, the benign tumors encountered in the heart are myxoma, lipoma, fibroelastoma, rhabdomyoma, hemangioma, and lymphangioma.

Congenital aneurysm of the right atrium [PDF]

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery, 2001
Congenital aneurysm of the right atrium is described in a 1-year-old girl who presented with cardiomegaly and symptoms of paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia. Echocardiography and cineangiography both established the definitive diagnosis and surgical resection was successful.

ELABELA Targets Mitochondria to Modulate Heart Development

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The role of peptide ELABELA (ELA) in cardiomyocyte apoptosis and congenital heart disease (CHD) is unclear. ELA deficiency caused cardiomyocyte apoptosis and CHD. A novel ELA‐APJ‐AKT‐BCL2/BAX axis in regulating mitochondrial function and contributing to CHD pathogenesis was established.

Diagnostic features and surgical treatment of malignant heart tumor - hemangioendothelioma: A case report

open access: yesHeart Vessels and Transplantation
Objective: Primary heart tumors are neoplasms heterogeneous in histological structure, growing from the tissues and membranes of the heart. Their diagnosis is difficult due to the absence of pathognomonic signs, as well as the possibility of a long-term

Cardiac varix in the right atrium [PDF]

open access: yesInteractive CardioVascular and Thoracic Surgery, 2012
A 73-year old man underwent transthoracic and transoesophageal echocardiography and computed tomography, which revealed what appeared to be an asymptomatic primary mobile tumour located in the right atrium. During surgery, the mass was found to be associated with the right atrial septum and was subsequently resected. Histopathology of the mass revealed

Marburg Virus Glycoprotein Is a Remarkable Virulent Factor Linked to Hemorrhagic Pathology: Evidence from Multimodal Experimental Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
By integrating data from in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo models, our research identifies the MARV glycoprotein as a remarkable hemorrhagic factor, filling a major gap in this important field. It also provides practical experimental tools for the basic research on viral pathogenesis and applied research aimed at antiviral intervention for hemorrhagic ...

Conformable Microelectrode Arrays Integrated with a Scoop‐Shaped Slide‐Well for Dynamic Electrophysiological Profiling of Patient‐Derived Cardiac Organoids

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A flexible, ultrathin multi‐channel microelectrode array (MEA) conformally integrated onto a curved slide‐well enables stable electrical interfacing with 3D cardiac organoids. The geometry‐guided self‐alignment allows simultaneous recording of extracellular field potentials and contractile motion from irregular, beating tissues.
