Epidemiology and management of right ventricular-predominant heart failure and shock in the cardiac intensive care unit.

open access: yesEuropean heart journal. Acute cardiovascular care, 2022
Cardiogenic shock from left ventricular failure is a common presentation in the intensive care unit. In contrast, right ventricular (RV)-predominant heart failure (HF) causing shock is less well recognized. We review the epidemiology and mechanisms of RV-

SARS‐CoV‐2 Is Linked to Brain Volume Loss in Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective The impact of SARS‐CoV‐2 infection on brain and spinal cord pathology in patients with multiple sclerosis (pwMS) remains unclear. We aimed to describe changes in brain lesion activity and brain and spinal cord volumes following SARS‐CoV‐2 infection.

Biologically‐Inspired Melt Electrowriting for the Generation of Highly Biomimetic Functional Myocardium

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this work, melt electrowriting is used to fabricate a 3D printed scaffold design that generates engineered cardiac tissues with in‐plane contraction, mimicking natural myocardium. It is shown that these tissues display advanced maturation and functionality.
