Cytotoxicity of rigid gas‐permeable lens care solutions
Clinical and Experimental Optometry, 2013Reports on cytotoxic effects of rigid gas-permeable lens multipurpose solutions, which remain important because of increasing popularity of orthokeratology, are limited. This study determined cytotoxic effects of rigid gas-permeable lens multipurpose solutions on human corneal epithelial cells and assessed the proliferation rate at different levels of ...

Efficacy of multipurpose solutions for rigid gas permeable lenses
Ophthalmic and Physiological Optics, 2006AbstractThe use of multipurpose solutions for cleaning and disinfecting rigid gas permeable lenses has replaced single purpose solutions, but there are no reports of the efficacy of these multipurpose solutions, or of the effects of storage conditions on their disinfecting capacities.

Acute rigid gas permeable contact lens intolerance
Contact Lens and Anterior Eye, 2001Rigid gas permeable (RGP) and polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) lens wearers occasionally report episodes of acute intolerance which is experienced upon lens insertion. In this paper, we report two cases of such intolerance in which the probable cause was contact lens inversion.

Rigid Gas Permeable Lens Binding
Optometry and Vision Science, 1987A retrospective analysis of lens binding was performed using records from 279 cases of overnight wear of rigid gas permeable (RGP) lenses in a variety of materials and designs. The overall incidence of lens binding on eye opening was 22%. Typically, the lens was bound nasally, became mobile spontaneously in less than 1 h, and produced staining of the ...
