Rigidity of silicone substrates controls cell spreading and stem cell differentiation. [PDF]
The dependences of spreading and differentiation of stem cells plated on hydrogel and silicone gel substrates on the rigidity and porosity of the substrates have recently been a subject of some controversy.

Rigidity results for Riemann solitons
In this paper we take a look at conditions that make a Riemann soliton trivial, compacity being one of them. We also show that the behaviour at infinity of the gradient field of a non-compact gradient Riemann soliton might cause the soliton to be an Einstein manifold.

A rigidity result for normalized subfactors
We show a rigidity result for subfactors that are normalized by a representation of a lattice Γ in a higher rank simple Lie group with trivial center into a finite factor. This implies that every subfactor of LΓ which is normalized by the natural copy of Γ is trivial or of finite index.

Rigidity results and topology at infinity of translating solitons of the mean curvature flow [PDF]
In this paper we obtain rigidity results and obstructions on the topology at infinity of translating solitons of the mean curvature flow in the Euclidean space. Our approach relies on the theory of f-minimal hypersurfaces.

The results of studies of the rigidity of stabilizers and the roll angle of the truck [PDF]
Analyzes the change in the body roll angle during curvilinear motion according to the calculation and modeling options in the Matlab&Simulink system. The increase in the values of the required relative to the set angular stiffness of the suspension is ...

Complexity of linear circuits and geometry [PDF]
We use algebraic geometry to study matrix rigidity, and more generally, the complexity of computing a matrix-vector product, continuing a study initiated by Kumar, et. al.

Leg rigidity is associated with frequent falls in people with Parkinson’s disease (PD), suggesting a potential role in functional balance and gait impairments. Changes in the neural state due to secondary tasks, e.g., activation maneuvers, can exacerbate

A rigidity result for non-local semilinear equations [PDF]
We consider a possibly anisotropic integrodifferential semilinear equation, driven by a non-decreasing nonlinearity. We prove that if the solution grows less than the order of the operator at infinity, then it must be affine (possibly constant).

Rigidity of frameworks on expanding spheres [PDF]
A rigidity theory is developed for bar-joint frameworks in $\mathbb{R}^{d+1}$ whose vertices are constrained to lie on concentric $d$-spheres with independently variable radii.

One brick at a time: a survey of inductive constructions in rigidity theory [PDF]
We present a survey of results concerning the use of inductive constructions to study the rigidity of frameworks. By inductive constructions we mean simple graph moves which can be shown to preserve the rigidity of the corresponding framework.
