Directional spectral emissivity characterization and modeling of laser-patterned steel surfaces [PDF]
We present preliminary results on the fabrication of patterned surfaces by Direct Laser Interference Patterning and the characterization and theoretical interpretation of their infrared emissivities.

Enhanced optical transmission of the triple-layer resonant waveguide structure
In this paper, we propose and demonstrate a novel guided-mode resonant filter based on a metallic grating sandwiched between two dielectric layers for TE polarization. A theoretical model based on rigorous coupled wave analysis has been developed.

Resonant transmission and mode modulation of acoustic waves in H-shaped metallic gratings
In this work, we demonstrate that resonant full transmission of acoustic waves exists in subwavelength H-shaped metallic gratings, and transmission peaks can be efficiently tuned by adjusting the grating geometry.

Modeling full PCSELs and VCSELs using modified rigorous coupled-wave analysis [PDF]
An integrated rigorous coupled-wave analysis (RCWA) algorithm is presented in this paper, which can simulate full vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) and photonic crystal surface-emitting laser (PCSEL) structures. A classic RCWA can only analyze a structure when the light source is incident from the top, bottom, or both sides of the device ...

D 1 and D 2 resonances in coupled-channel scattering amplitudes from lattice QCD
Isospin-1/2 charmed axial-vector D ∗ π − D ∗ η − D s ∗ K ¯ $$ {D}_s^{\ast}\overline{K} $$ scattering amplitudes are computed, along with interactions in several other I = 1/2 J P channels. Using lattice QCD, we work at a light-quark mass corresponding to

Influence of Thickness on the Holographic Parameters of H-PDLC Materials
For photopolymers the compound concentrations and final thickness of the sample should be known in order to model hologram formation and introduce the reaction-diffusion kinetics of the monomer-polymer system.

Simple Rectangular Gratings as a Near-Field “Anti-Reflection” Pattern for GaSb TPV Cells
We show theoretically that 2D rectangular gratings on the surface of GaSb can serve as an “anti-reflection” pattern for nano-gap thermophotovoltaic (TPV) devices, which significantly enhances near-field radiative flux from the emitter to a GaSb cell ...
