Giant Enhancement of the Anomalous Transverse Magneto‐Optical Kerr Effect in a Magneto‐Optical Grating

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 10, 27 May 2026.
We demonstrate an indirect magneto‐optical coupling mechanism that overrides the symmetry‐induced suppression of s‐polarized TMOKE. A quasi‐two‐dimensional grating coordinates orthogonal resonances to establish a near‐zero reflection background and maximal near‐field asymmetry, achieving a theoretical‐limit TMOKE of ∼2.

Physical properties of the tunic in the pinkish-brown salp Pegea confoederata (Tunicata: Thaliacea)

open access: yesZoological Letters, 2018
Background Invisibility in the water column is a crucial strategy for gelatinous zooplanktons in avoiding detection by visual predators, especially for animals distributed in the euphotic zone during the daytime; i.e., surface dwellers that do not ...

Spectropolarimetric Holographic Multiplexing Metasurface With Super‐High Capacity Empowered by Mechanical Rotation

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 9, 13 May 2026.
Mechanically reconfigurable metasurfaces enable high‐capacity optical storage and holography due to low cost/complexity. A differentiable inverse design framework maps meta‐atom geometries to multichannel optical responses via deep neural networks. Rotatable cascaded metasurfaces optimized through this pipeline achieve pixel‐level holography with 288 ...

Mitigating the Impact of Asymmetric Deformation on Advanced Metrology for Photolithography

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Controlling overlay in lithography is crucial for improving the yield of integrated circuit manufacturing. The process disturbances can cause undesirable morphology changes of overlay targets (such as asymmetric grating), which can significantly impact ...

Band diagrams and field distribution of squarely-modulated slab metallic gratings

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2016
The optical transmission properties of squarely-modulated metallic gratings has been widely investigated. This study used rigorous-coupled wave analysis (RCWA) to re-examine in detail the band structure of a laminated metal film with squarely-modulated ...
