An analytical model for azimuthal thermoacoustic modes in an annular chamber fed by an annular plenum [PDF]
This study describes an analytical method for computing azimuthal modes due to flame/acoustics coupling in annular combustors. It is based on a quasi-one-dimensional zero-Mach-number formulation where N burners are connected to an upstream annular plenum

Fokker–Planck modeling of the stochastic dynamics of a Rijke tube
We derive and numerically validate a low-order oscillator model to capture the stochastic dynamics of a prototypical thermoacoustic system (a Rijke tube) undergoing a subcritical Hopf bifurcation in the presence of additive noise. We find that on the fixed-point branch before the bifurcation, the system is dominated by the first duct mode, and the ...

Learning and Characterizing Chaotic Attractors of a Lean Premixed Combustor
This paper is about the characteristics of and a method to recognize the onset of limit cycle thermoacoustic oscillations in a gas turbine-like combustor with a premixed turbulent methane/air flame.

Acoustic dampers are efficient and cost-effective means for suppressing thermoacoustic instabilities in combustion chambers. However, their design and the choice of their purging air mass flow is a challenging task, when one aims at ensuring ...

Passive suppression of thermoacoustic instability in a Rijke tube
Abstract This article investigates passive stabilization of thermoacoustic dynamics in a Rijke tube by using a Helmholtz resonator. Under certain assumptions, the mathematical model of the dynamics is shown to fall into the linear time-invariant multiple time delay systems class of neutral type.

Progress in analytical methods to predict and control azimuthal combustion instability modes in annular chambers [PDF]
Longitudinal low-frequency thermoacoustic unstable modes in combustion chambers have been intensively studied experimentally, numerically, and theoretically, leading to significant progress in both understanding and controlling these acoustic modes ...

A projektmunka hatásai a természettudományos tantárgyak tanulásában [PDF]

Nonlinear self-excited thermoacoustic oscillations of a ducted premixed flame: Bifurcations and routes to chaos [PDF]
Thermoacoustic systems can oscillate self-excitedly, and often non-periodically, owing to coupling between unsteady heat release and acoustic waves. We study a slot-stabilized two-dimensional premixed flame in a duct via numerical simulations of a $G ...
