Emission or scattering? Discriminating the origin of responsiveness in AIEgen‐doped smart polymers using the TPE dye

open access: yesAggregate, 2023
Aggregation‐induced emission (AIE) luminogens are attractive dyes to probe polymer properties that depend on changes in chain mobility and free volume.

Design Optimization of a Variable Stiffness Robotic Gripper with Passive Restoration Fabricated by Multimaterial 3D Printing

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A multimaterial robotic gripper fabricated via multimaterial 3D printing integrates conductive thermopolymer joints with flexible elastomeric components. Joule heating enables precise joint‐level stiffness modulation, enhanced by embedded temperature sensors, passive shape restoration, and active cooling, enabling versatile manipulation capabilities ...

Formation of double ring patterns on Co2MnSi Heusler alloy thin film by anodic oxidation under scanning probe microscope [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Double ring formation on Co2MnSi (CMS) films is observed at electrical breakdown voltage during local anodic oxidation (LAO) using atomic force microscope (AFM).

Nanoscale Mapping of the Subcellular Glycosylation Landscape

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using multiplexed super‐resolution imaging with fluorophore‐labeled lectins, this study reports intracellular glycosylation at the nanoscale across organelles and synaptic specializations. Extending glycan analysis beyond the cell surface, Glyco‐STORM reveals distinct glycosylation nanodomains in the ER, Golgi, lysosomes, and synaptic sites.

Application of Spiral Ring Dampers in Vibration Reduction of Aeroengine Bevel Gears

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2023
In view of the problem that the vibration stress of the axle driven bevel gear of an aeroengine exceeds the permissible stress, a spiral ring friction damper is designed for the bevel gear.

Types of rotor failure and characteristics of fragments [PDF]

open access: yes, 1977
Noncontained rotor failures in U.K. engines resulting from low cycle fatigue, low cycle fatigue with superimposed high cycle fatigue, and overheating and-or overspeeding were analyzed.

A Biomarker‐Driven Ovary–Endometrium Organ‐on‐a‐Chip Mimicking 3D Multicellular Complexity and Menstrual Cyclicity for Predicting Reproductive Toxicity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We present a dual‐organ, biomarker‐integrated ovaryendometrium organ‐on‐a‐chip that recapitulates 3D tissue complexity, menstrual cycle dynamics, and hormonal crosstalk. This platform enables real‐time, cell‐typespecific fluorescent readouts of reproductive toxicity using ANGPTL4 and SERPINB2 as early‐response reporters.

Understanding the link between circumferential dikes and eruptive fissures around calderas based on numerical and analog models

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 2016
Active calderas are seldom associated with circumferential eruptive fissures, but eroded magmatic complexes reveal widespread circumferential dikes. This suggests that, while the conditions to emplace circumferential dikes are easily met, mechanisms must

Deformation of an inflated bicycle tire when loaded

open access: yes, 2019
The deformation of a loaded bike tire has been analyzed with a model consisting of a toroid of thin inextensible walls mounted on a central rim. If the tire radius is much shorter than the rim radius, the deflection, d, of the tire can be calculated as a

A thin film model for corotational Jeffreys fluids under strong slip [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We derive a thin film model for viscoelastic liquids under strong slip which obey the stress tensor dynamics of corotational Jeffreys fluids.Comment: 3 pages, submitted to Eur. Phys. J.
