An electrochemical approach to aluminum-based redox switchable ring opening polymerization

open access: yes, 2023
We report the electrochemically switchable reactivity of (salfen)Al(OiPr) (salfen = 1,1′-di(2,4-bis-tert-butyl-salicylimino)ferrocene) toward the ring opening polymerization of various cyclic esters, ethers, and carbonates.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Anionic Ring-Opening Polymerization of Phenylsilacyclobutanes [PDF]

open access: yesPolymer Journal, 2000
Butyllithium-induced anionic ring-opening polymerization of phenyl-substituted silacyclobutanes was investigated. Polymerization of 1, 1-dimethyl-3-phenylsilacyclobutane in tetrahydrofuran (THF) at −78°C proceeded in a living fashion. A linear relationship between ln[M]0/[M] and time ([M]0 is the initial concentration of the monomer and [M] is the ...

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Stereoselective photoredox ring-opening polymerization of O-carboxyanhydrides

open access: yesNature Communications, 2018
The stereoselective synthesis of polyesters has been achieved via various methods; however, all routes show limited side-chain group functionality. Here the authors synthesize stereoblock polyesters by photoredox ring-opening polymerization of racemic O ...
