Deep subwavelength split ring neck acoustic resonator

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2019
Here, a novel acoustic resonator is proposed, realizing deep sub-wavelength form. An embedded split ring neck configuration is adopted, which makes the acoustic resonator being flat while lowering the acoustic resonance frequency. This resonant frequency

Synthetic frequency dimensions in dynamically modulated ring resonators

open access: yesAPL Photonics, 2021
The concept of synthetic dimensions in photonics has attracted rapidly growing interest in the past few years. Among a variety of photonic systems, the ring resonator system under dynamic modulation has been investigated in depth both in theory and ...

Design and fabrication of a polymer micro ring resonator with laser beam direct write lithography technique [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In this article, we describe our work on design and fabrication of a polymer Micro Ring Resonator. This device has been constructed by laser beam direct write lithography technique (LBL).We used ORMOCORE photoresist for fabricating a micro ring resonator

Energy Down Conversion between Classical Electromagnetic Fields via a Quantum Mechanical SQUID Ring [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We consider the interaction of a quantum mechanical SQUID ring with a classical resonator (a parallel $LC$ tank circuit). In our model we assume that the evolution of the ring maintains its quantum mechanical nature, even though the circuit to which it ...

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

High Sensitivity Multiple Gases Sensor With an Array of Micro-ring Resonators

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2012
A gas sensing system comprising an array of photonic wire waveguide-based ring resonators is proposed. As a ring resonator propagates resonant lights only, parameters of the resonator can be deliberately designed such that a resonant light of the ...

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Nondestructive interaction-free atom-photon controlled-NOT gate

open access: yes, 2007
We present a probabilistic (ideally 50%) nondestructive interaction-free atom-photon controlled-NOT gate, where nondestructive means that all four outgoing target photon modes of the gate are available and feed-forwardable.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Optical annular resonators based on radial Bragg and photonic crystal reflectors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
A ring resonator based on Bragg reflection is studied in detail. Closed form expressions for the field and dispersion curves for radial Bragg gratings and photonic crystals based resonators are derived and compared to FDTD simulations.
