Effect of ring width on ring generated Bessel beam

SPIE Proceedings, 2012
In this work we study the effect of the ring width on the performance of a ring generated Bessel beam. Experimental results and simulation model for ring generated Bessel beams are investigated and compared. The simulation model is based on Fourier optics. The effect of varying the ring radius and the ring width on the Bessel beam parameters like the

Internal Combustion Engines--Piston Rings--Rectangular Rings With Narrow Ring Width

2017
<p>This SAE Standard specifies the essential dimensional features of R, B, and M rectangular piston ring types with narrow ring width.</p> <p>Dimensional tables 8 and 9 allow for the use of cast iron (table 8) or steel (table 9). Since the modulus of elasticity of steel rings is higher than that of cast iron rings, the fluctuation in ...

Measurement of the Plasma Width in a Ring Cusp

Physical Review Letters, 1980
A pure, fully ionized, ${\mathrm{D}}_{2}$ plasma of 2\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}${10}^{19}$ ions, generated from free-falling ${\mathrm{D}}_{2}$ pellets with use of a 100-J Nd-glass laser pulse followed by a 1000-J C${\mathrm{O}}_{2}$ laser pulse, is used to fill ($\ensuremath{\beta}=1$) a cusp-configured magnetic field.

Width of Cassini's Division in Saturn's Rings

Nature, 1971
IT is commonly implied and sometimes explicitly stated in textbooks that the period of revolution corresponding to an orbit at the centre of Cassini's division in the rings of Saturn is half the period of Mimas, the closest massive satellite of Saturn, and that perturbations due to Mimas are responsible for the gap.

Induction motor resistance ring width

Electrical Engineering, 1936
The effect which the width of resistance rings has on the secondary resistance of squirrel cage induction motors has been subjected to a mathematical analysis. It is found that the width, in a radial direction, of these rings which connect the conductors of a squirrel cage rotor, need never exceed the pole pitch, and probably half of that value is ...

Width of a planetary ring system and the C-ring of Saturn

Nature, 1978
The growth of particles in a planetary ring system is considered with reference to the C-ring of Saturn. Small particles arising from various sources collide with and temporarily adhere to larger particles, and the paper presents a mathematical analysis of the conditions under which the small particles will stay long enough on the surface of the larger

Chronomics of climatic variations of tree ring width

Izvestiya, Atmospheric and Oceanic Physics, 2010
Variations in the average annual tree rings of 11 sequoia trees for 2189 years are studied. The power spectrum of tree ring variations, calculated by the Maximum Entropy Method (MEM), is power-law in character with the coefficient β close to −1.00, suggesting the fractal character of the considered time series.

Solar variability and ring widths in fossil trees

Il Nuovo Cimento C, 1996
We have analysed ring width sequences of 1.3 My old fossil trees, grown with no water deficit, in Dunarobba forest (Italy). We find evidence for a modulation period of the annual ring growth widths on time scale of 11 y to 15 y. Since similar modulation cycles have also been found by other authors in polar ice10Be concentration of the last millennium ...
