Crosstalk between the ribosome quality control‐associated E3 ubiquitin ligases LTN1 and RNF10

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of the E3 ligase LTN1, the ubiquitin‐like modifier UFM1, or the deubiquitinating enzyme UFSP2 disrupts endoplasmic reticulum–ribosome quality control (ER‐RQC), a pathway that removes stalled ribosomes and faulty proteins. This disruption may trigger a compensatory response to ER‐RQC defects, including increased expression of the E3 ligase RNF10 ...

On Zero-Symmetric Left Centrally Prime Near-Rings [PDF]

open access: yesKirkuk Journal of Science, 2007
Our aim in this paper is: to give some properties of zero-symmetric left centrally prime near-rings, then looking for those conditions which make zero-symmetric left centrally prime near-rings abelian, so that several conditions are given under which ...

Integrable N = 2 Landau-Ginzburg Theories from Quotients of Fusion Rings

open access: yes, 1993
The discovery of integrable $N=2$ supersymmetric Landau-Ginzburg theories whose chiral rings are fusion rings suggests a close connection between fusion rings, the related Landau-Ginzburg superpotentials, and $N=2$ quantum integrability.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Armendariz Rings and Reduced Rings

open access: yesJournal of Algebra, 2000
According to \textit{D. D. Anderson} and \textit{V. Camillo} [Commun. Algebra 26, No. 7, 2265-2272 (1998; Zbl 0915.13001)], a ring \(R\) is called Armendariz if whenever polynomials \(f(x)=a_0+a_1x+\cdots+a_m x^m\) and \(g(x)=b_0+b_1x+\cdots+b_nx^n\) in \(R[x]\) satisfy \(f(x)g(x)=0\), then \(a_ib_j=0\) for each \(i\), \(j\). It is shown that if a ring
