Phase light curves for extrasolar Jupiters and Saturns [PDF]
We predict how a remote observer would see the brightness variations of giant planets similar to Jupiter and Saturn as they orbit their central stars. We model the geometry of Jupiter, Saturn and Saturn's rings for varying orbital and viewing parameters.

The Discovery of Oxygen Kα X-Ray Emission from the Rings of Saturn [PDF]
Using the Advanced CCD Imaging Spectrometer (ACIS), the Chandra X-Ray Observatory observed the Saturnian system for one rotation of the planet (~37 ks) on 2004 January 20 and again on January 26-27.

A Recent Impact Origin of Saturn’s Rings and Mid-sized Moons [PDF]
We simulate the collision of precursor icy moons analogous to Dione and Rhea as a possible origin for Saturn’s remarkably young rings. Such an event could have been triggered a few hundred million years ago by resonant instabilities in a previous ...

A Large Double-ring Disk Around the Taurus M Dwarf J04124068+2438157
Planet formation imprints signatures on the physical structures of disks. In this paper, we present high-resolution (∼50 mas, 8 au) Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array observations of 1.3 mm dust continuum and CO line emission toward the disk ...

Model of gravitational effects in Saturn’s rings
In this work, we consider one possi- ble gravitational interaction in a system consisting of Saturn, its satellites and rings. The structure of rings can be changed because of such interactions leading to some sculpting of rings.

As Lieut. Davies has thought it necessary to refer to your remarks about the satellite theory of Saturn's rings—and in so doing has named my work upon Saturn (which you had only referred to without naming) it may be as well for me to mention, that I nowhere in that work claim the theory as mine—and that, whenever I have seen it referred to as mine, I ...

The Ruin as Kairos in W. G. Sebald’s The Rings of Saturn
Beyond the obvious semiotic heterogeneity of linguistic signs and visual images, which accounts for the disruptive force of the inserted visual material in Sebald’s novel The Rings of Saturn, the text and image relation in this novel is a particular site

Saturn's Plasma Density Depletions Along Magnetic Field Lines Connected to the Main Rings
We report on a set of clear and abrupt decreases in the high‐frequency boundary of whistler mode emissions detected by Cassini at high latitudes (about ±40°) during the low‐altitude proximal flybys of Saturn. These abrupt decreases or dropouts have start

A Gap-sharing Planet Pair Shaping the Crescent in HD 163296: A Disk Sculpted by a Resonant Chain
The Atacama Large Millimeter Array observations of the disk around HD 163296 have resolved a crescent-shape substructure at around 55 au, inside and off-center from a gap in the dust that extends from 38 to 62 au.

Corotation-driven magnetosphere-ionosphere coupling currents in Saturn’s magnetosphere and their relation to the auroras [PDF]
We calculate the latitude profile of the equatorward-directed ionospheric Pedersen currents that are driven in Saturn’s ionosphere by partial corotation of the magnetospheric plasma.
