Nil Semi-Groups of Rings with a Polynomial Identity [PDF]

open access: yesNagoya Mathematical Journal, 1966
The basic properties of associative rings R satisfying a polynomial identity p[x1…, xn] = 0 were obtained under the assumptions that the ring was an algebra [e.g., [4] Ch. X], or with rather strong restrictions on the ring of operators ([1]). But it is desirable to have these properties for arbitrary rings, and the present paper is the first of an ...

Characterization of Defect Distribution in an Additively Manufactured AlSi10Mg as a Function of Processing Parameters and Correlations with Extreme Value Statistics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Predicting extreme defects in additive manufacturing remains a key challenge limiting its structural reliability. This study proposes a statistical framework that integrates Extreme Value Theory with advanced process indicators to explore defect–process relationships and improve the estimation of critical defect sizes. The approach provides a basis for

Differential identities in prime rings with involution [PDF]

open access: yes, 1985
Let R R be a prime ring with involution. Using work of V. K. Kharchenko it is shown that any generalized identity for R R involving derivations of R R and the involution of R R is a ...

Symbolic Regression and Multi‐Objective Optimization of the Flory–Huggins Interaction Parameter for Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We develop a data‐driven method to derive the mathematical expressions of the Flory–Huggins interaction parameter χ for the swelling behavior of temperature–responsive hydrogels. Starting from initial assumptions of χ, our workflow combines Bayesian optimization, Flory–Rehner theory, and symbolic regression to generate candidate χ expressions.

The Centre of Some Skew Polynomial Rings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Let R be any ring with identity 1, σ be an endomorphism and δ be a left σ-derivation. In this paper, we will investigate the centre of some skew polynomial rings in the case when R is a commutative domain and σ is anautomorphism.

Prime rings satisfying a polynomial identity [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1960
PROOF. Sufficiency is easy and omitted. We recall that B is a twosided quotient ring of its subring A if every element of B can be written ab-1, a, bCA, and also c-ld, c, dCA, and if every element of B not a left (right) zero divisor has a right (left) inverse in B. B is unique given A if it exists.

Workflow for Design of Experiments‐Based Modeling of Species Transport and Growth Kinetics in GaN Hydride Vapor Phase Epitaxy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A novel workflow for investigating hydride vapor phase epitaxy for GaN bulk crystal growth is proposed. It combines Design of experiments (DoE) with physical simulations of mass transport and crystal growth kinetics, serving as an intermediate step between DoE and experiments.

The Noetherian property for quotient rings of infinite polynomial rings [PDF]

open access: yes, 1979
Let X be an infinite set of indeterminates over the commutative Noetherian ring R with identity. We prove that the quotient ring of R [ X ] R[X] with respect to the multiplicative system of polynomials of ...

Influence of Geometric Design on Mechanical Performance of Auxetic Metastructure

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Strategic geometric reinforcement transforms auxetic performance. This study evaluates 3D‐printed arrowhead metastructures, revealing that a modified design with local ring reinforcement suppresses premature failure to achieve superior energy absorption and structural efficiency.
