Heterogeneity in flood risk awareness: A longitudinal, latent class model approach

Journal of Hydrology, 2021
Abstract Insights into the heterogeneity of human behaviours and attitudes toward risk require the understanding of the role played by a plurality of factors, such as risk awareness and trust. However, our knowledge of the interplay of these factors is limited, as is our knowledge of the patterns in risk attitudes and behaviours and their evolution ...

Regime Detection Based Risk Modeling of Asset Classes

SSRN Electronic Journal, 2019
In this work, we have found a risk model that improves the performance of Risk Targeting. Risk Targeting in portfolio construction is implemented to improve capital utilization in growing markets and systematically step away from risk scenarios. However, the performance of risk targeting varies with different implementations of risk estimation.

Credibility analysis of risk classes by generalized linear model

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2016
In this paper generalized linear model (GLM) and credibility theory which are frequently used in nonlife insurance pricing are combined for reliability analysis. Using full credibility standard, GLM is associated with limited fluctuation credibility approach.

Utilizing latent class logit model to predict crash risk

2017 IEEE/ACIS 16th International Conference on Computer and Information Science (ICIS), 2017
Real time traffic crash risk prediction is very important for proactive safety management systems. In this paper, a new model is developed to predict real time traffic crash risk based on some elaborately selected characteristics of traffic flow. Compared with the dominant conventional matched case-control logistic regression model which is based on ...

A discrete-time risk model with interaction between classes of business

Insurance: Mathematics and Economics, 2003
This research work is devoted to the study of some important aspects concerning a discrete-time risk model, having correlated classes of business. It is proposed a new relation of dependence, based on a previous continuous-time significant model. The paper contains adequate numerical considerations and pertinent references.

A taxonomy of bridges at risk of flooding: towards bridge classes and damage models

Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers - Bridge Engineering, 2022
Many communities around the world are facing increasing flood-induced damage to bridges due to climate change and rising urbanisation. It is thus crucial to understand how different bridge types suffer from flooding and how this may affect surrounding networks.
