Courir le risque de se faire mal

open access: yesM@GM@, 2015
L’athlétisme est un sport constitué de plusieurs disciplines - sprint, demi-fond, lancers, sauts... Toutes mettent le corps en jeu, mais chacune à sa manière.

Nanopore sequencing of a monkeypox virus strain isolated from a pustular lesion in the Central African Republic

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
Monkeypox is an emerging and neglected zoonotic disease whose number of reported cases has been gradually increasing in Central Africa since 1980. This disease is caused by the monkeypox virus (MPXV), which belongs to the genus Orthopoxvirus in the ...

Piezoresistivity Enhancement by Graphite Flake Alignment in Thin Composite Films for Dielectric Elastomer Switches

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This article presents dielectric elastomer switch (DES) materials, based on composite thin films. Alignment of graphite flakes due to their physical confinement within the thin films lead to much stronger piezoresistive responses than bulk composites, while their durability exceeds that of conventional liquid‐based DES materials.

Vie privée et surveillance ambiante : le droit canadien en chantier

open access: yesDroit et Cultures, 2013
Ambient surveillance technologies are a new ambush set on the path toward conceptualization of privacy rights in Canada. As they impact the underlying rationale for surveillance, these technologies challenge the traditional theoretical approaches to ...

An AI‐Enabled All‐In‐One Visual, Proximity, and Tactile Perception Multimodal Sensor

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Targeting integrated multimodal perception of robots, an AI‐enabled all‐in‐one multimodal sensor is proposed. This sensor is capable of perceiving three types of modalities, including vision, proximity, and tactility. By toggling an ultraviolet light and adjusting the camera focus, it switches smoothly between multiple perceptual modalities, enabling ...

Continual Learning for Multimodal Data Fusion of a Soft Gripper

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Models trained on a single data modality often struggle to generalize when exposed to a different modality. This work introduces a continual learning algorithm capable of incrementally learning different data modalities by leveraging both class‐incremental and domain‐incremental learning scenarios in an artificial environment where labeled data is ...

Expositions environnementales et cancers : risques perçus, risques réels

open access: yesEspace populations sociétés, 2011
According to definition, data bases used and variables considered, it is estimated that between 5 % and 30 % of cancers are due to environmental exposures. In this article, we inventory perceived and actual risks relative to interactions between environmental exposures and cancer.

Vers une définition multidimensionnelle du risque

open access: yes, 2012
Le statut du risque se revele intrinsequement ambigu, tant au niveau ontologique qu'au niveau epistemologique. L’objectif de cette contribution consiste a le clarifier, a travers une analyse des diverses conceptions du risque vehiculees par la ...

A Multidirectional Textile Interface for Remote Control Using Dynamic Area‐Based Capacitance Modulation

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Here, we present a textile, wearable capacitive interface enabling multidirectional remote control by dynamically modulating electrode overlap and spacing via a freely gliding upper electrode. A forearm‐mounted prototype drives robotic and media tasks with 12–15 ms latency, maintains < 0.8% drift after 500 cycles, and remains stably functional at 90 ...
