Nitrogen and phosphorus addition interactively affected the abundance of soil nematodes in a Tibetan alpine meadow

open access: yesGlobal Ecology and Conservation
There has been a significant increase in atmospheric nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) deposition since the Industrial Revolution, profoundly affecting the structure and function of terrestrial ecosystems.

Discovery of an Adaptive Neuroimmune Response Driving Itch and Fast Tick Removal with Implications for Preventing Pathogen Transmission

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Doehl et al. discovered an adaptive neuroimmune mechanism that induces itch in tick‐exposed guinea pigs, enabling rapid tick removal. This itch‐induced tick removal (IITR) is mediated by an adaptive cellular immune response and is independent of IgG, IgE, or TRPV1.

Myeloid‐Derived Grancalcin Promotes Periodontal Inflammation and Pathological Bone Remodeling in Periodontitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Grancalcin (GCA), a myeloid‐derived protein, is enriched in gingival tissues of periodontitis patients and mouse models. Through interactions with CD44 and activation of MYH9, GCA promotes NF‐κB signaling and exacerbates periodontal inflammation and bone loss.

Depth-Specific Prediction of Coastal Soil Salinization Using Multi-Source Environmental Data and an Optimized GWO–RF–XGBoost Ensemble Model

open access: yesRemote Sensing
Soil salinization is an escalating global concern threatening agricultural productivity and ecological sustainability, particularly in coastal regions where complex interactions among hydrological, climatic, and anthropogenic factors govern salt ...

NIBAN2/FLII/RREB1 Axis Drives Glioma Stem Cell Malignancy via TLR3 Pathway Activation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
NIBAN2, highly expressed in glioma stem‐like cells (GSCs), assembles with FLII and transcription factor RREB1 to form a nuclear complex. This complex transcriptionally activates stemness‐associated genes (e.g., CD44, NANOG) and metabolic enzymes (e.g., LDHA), thereby sustaining both transcriptional and metabolic stemness programs.

Mechanical Properties and Microscopic Mechanism of Granite Residual Soil Stabilized with Biopolymers

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Granite residual soil exhibits a tendency to collapse and disintegrate upon exposure to water, displaying highly unstable mechanical properties. This makes it susceptible to landslides, mudslides, and other geological hazards. In this study, three common

ZBTB21 Is a Dual Suppressor of Pyroptosis and MHC‐I Antigen Presentation That Promotes Tumor Immune Evasion

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ZBTB21 is a transcription factor that epigenetically suppresses pyroptosis and MHC‐I antigen presentation, enabling tumor immune evasion. Genetic ablation of ZBTB21 activates pyroptotic cell death and enhances antigen presentation, recruiting CD8+ T cells to overcome immune checkpoint blockade resistance.
