Impact of RMP magnetic field simulation models on fast ion losses

open access: yesNuclear Fusion, 2014
Two opposing approaches to include resonant magnetic perturbations (RMPs) in fast ion simulations are compared, one where the vacuum field caused by the RMP current coils is added to the axisymmetric MHD equilibrium, the other where the MHD equilibrium includes the plasma response within the 3D deformation of its flux-surfaces.

Measurements and modelling of plasma response field to RMP on the COMPASS tokamak

Nuclear Fusion, 2016
Abstract It has been shown on several tokamaks that application of a resonant magnetic perturbation (RMP) field to the plasma can lead to suppression or mitigation of edge-localized mode (ELM) instabilities. Due to the rotation of the plasma in the RMP field reference system, currents are induced on resonant surfaces within the plasma ...

The spectrum analysis of RMP coils with multiple connection modes and the design of high field side coils on J-TEXT

Plasma Science and Technology, 2022
Abstract The phase difference Δξ between locked islands (2/1 and 3/1) has been found to influence the heat transport on the thermal quench during disruptions by numerical modeling [Hu Q et al 2019 Nucl. Fusion 59, 016005].
