Advanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.A shellac‐mediated nanoparticle assembly strategy is presented, involving the complexation of mRNA and low‐molecular‐weight cationic molecules (e.g., polyethyleneimine, chitosan, lipids, and poly‐l‐lysine), followed by capping with shellac. This nanoparticle platform enables mRNA transfection following intravenous injection and facilitates gene editing

Adipocyte‐Derived Leptolin Enhances Energy Expenditure and Prevents Obesity
Advanced Science, EarlyView.We identified a novel adipokine, which we named leptolin. In humans, leptolin levels in white adipose tissue were positively correlated with exercise and negatively associated with body mass index. We observed elevated leptolin in serum from athletes and lower leptolin in serum from obese individuals.
