Microbubble‐Controlled Delivery of Biofilm‐Targeting Nanoparticles to Treat MRSA Infection

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Here, an effective strategy using microbubble (MB)‐controlled delivery of biofilm‐targeting nanoparticles (BTNs) for removal and therapy of methicillin‐resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) biofilm infections is introduced. In vivo delivery of MB with BTN is demonstrated to silence key bacterial genes involved in biofilm formation (icaA), bacterial ...

Amentoflavone from Selaginella tamariscina inhibits SARS-CoV-2 RNA-dependent RNA polymerase

open access: yesHeliyon
The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic caused millions of deaths due to its prominent infectivity and mortality. Although the vaccines and medicines for SARS-CoV-2 are on the market, new coronavirus variants like influenza are expected to reemerge continuously ...

Studies on nuclear RNA polymerases and the role of cyclic nucleotides on transcription [PDF]

open access: yes
1. An assay for measuring the endogenous RNA polymerase activity in Tetrahymena pyriformis nuclei was developed. The reaction rate was linear for 60 minutes at 25°C. This rate of the reaction was dependent on the presence of four nucleoside triphosphates

Encapsulation of Small Extracellular Vesicles into Selectively Disassemblable Shells of PEGylated Metal‐Phenolic Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) are encapsulated into protective shells composed of metal‐phenolic networks (MPNs) and secondary poly(ethylene glycol) layers. This surface modification approach enhances the storage stability of sEVs while maintaining their integrity and functionality. The shells can be selectively disassembled under mild conditions.
