As I hope this review has made clear, mRNA localization plays an important role in directing specific proteins to their correct position within a cell. Although the study of this process is still in its infancy, it is already apparent that there are several ways that mRNAs can be targeted to particular subcellular sites.

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

The bacterial RNA network includes most of the same components found in eukaryotes, and many of the interactions that under lie transcription, RNA processing and stability, translation, and protein secretion are conserved.
