Probing RNA Gels: General Notes
1986RNA species can be identified by hybridization procedures similar to those used for Southern blot probing. Two types of probes are typically used: cloned nick-translated restriction fragments and synthetic oligonucleotides. Ribosomal RNA (rRNA) is found in abundance in cells and binds the probe in a nonspecific manner.
