This study simultaneously investigated circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and exosomes from small‐cell lung cancer (SCLC) patients. The elevated expression of JUNB and CXCR4 in CTCs was a poor prognostic factor for SCLC patients, whereas exosomal overexpression of these biomarkers revealed a high discrimination ability of patients from healthy individuals,

How Large is the Universe of RNA-Like Motifs? A Clustering Analysis of RNA Graph Motifs Using Topological Descriptors [PDF]
We introduce a computational topology-based approach with unsupervised machine-learning algorithms to estimate the database size and content of RNA-like graph topologies. Specifically, we apply graph theory enumeration to generate all 110,667 possible 2D dual graphs for vertex numbers ranging from 2 to 9.

Analysis of ESR1 mutations in plasma cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) is highly important for the selection of treatment in patients with breast cancer. Using multiplex‐ddPCR and identical blood draws, we investigated whether circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and cfDNA provide similar or complementary information for ESR1 mutations.

4D Single-particle tracking with asynchronous read-out single-photon avalanche diode array detector
Single-particle tracking techniques enable investigation of the complex functions and interactions of individual particles in biological environments. Many such techniques exist, each demonstrating trade-offs between spatiotemporal resolution, spatial ...

MET variants in the N‐lobe of the kinase domain, found in hereditary papillary renal cell carcinoma, require ligand stimulation to promote cell transformation, in contrast to other RTK variants. This suggests that HGF expression in the microenvironment is important for tumor growth in such patients. Their sensitivity to MET inhibitors opens the way for

In vivo RNA editing of point mutations via RNA-guided adenosine deaminases. [PDF]
We present in vivo sequence-specific RNA base editing via adenosine deaminases acting on RNA (ADAR) enzymes with associated ADAR guide RNAs (adRNAs). To achieve this, we systematically engineered adRNAs to harness ADARs, and comprehensively evaluated the

Epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT) and tumor‐infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) are associated with early breast cancer response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC). This study evaluated EMT and TIL shifts, with immunofluorescence and RNA sequencing, at diagnosis and in residual tumors as potential biomarkers associated with treatment response.

RNAFlow: RNA Structure & Sequence Design via Inverse Folding-Based Flow Matching [PDF]
The growing significance of RNA engineering in diverse biological applications has spurred interest in developing AI methods for structure-based RNA design. While diffusion models have excelled in protein design, adapting them for RNA presents new challenges due to RNA's conformational flexibility and the computational cost of fine-tuning large ...
