PCR-Independent Detection of Bacterial Species-Specific 16S rRNA at 10 fM by a Pore-Blockage Sensor. [PDF]
A PCR-free, optics-free device is used for the detection of Escherichia coli (E. coli) 16S rRNA at 10 fM, which corresponds to ~100-1000 colony forming units/mL (CFU/mL) depending on cellular rRNA levels.

The top‐performing lipid nanoparticle, incorporating a novel ionizable lipid derived from vitamin B5, demonstrates high mRNA transfection efficiency, low toxicity, favorable stability, targeted delivery to lymphoid tissues, and high immunogenicity, showing promise as a carrier for mRNA vaccines for infectious diseases and cancer.

A flexible electrode loaded with a carbon nanowire network (CC@C‐NWN) is developed for electrochemically generating reactive chlorine species (RCS) from abundant chloride ions in body fluids for tumor therapy.
