THE INFLUENCE OF SPRAWL DEVELOPMENT, INCOME, AND INFRASTRUCTURE ON ENERGY CONSUMPTION IN CENTRAL JAVA PROVINCE, INDONESIA

open access: yesGeoplanning: Journal of Geomatics and Planning, 2018
Energy consumption is influenced by many factors. Sprawl development is often alleged as one of its driving factors. Other factors like the increase of community welfare and the improvement of regional infrastructures are often indicated to trigger ...

Automatically Tracking Road Centerlines from Low-Frequency GPS Trajectory Data

open access: yesISPRS International Journal of Geo-Information, 2021
High-quality digital road maps are essential prerequisites of location-based services and smart city applications. The massive and accessible GPS trajectory data generated by mobile GPS devices provide a new means through which to generate maps. However,

COMPARISON OF HIGH AND LOW DENSITY AIRBORNE LIDAR DATA FOR FOREST ROAD QUALITY ASSESSMENT [PDF]

open access: yesISPRS Annals of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2016
Good quality forest roads are important for forest management. Airborne laser scanning data can help create automatized road quality detection, thus avoiding field visits.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Assessing the Physical Stability of Soil Organic Carbon in Roadside Ecosystems

open access: yesUrban Science
Understanding the factors controlling the stability of soil organic carbon stocks, notably in urban areas such as roadsides, can contribute to a better quantification of the ecosystem services that these areas can provide, a key to improving urban ...

Investigating the Nonlinear Relationship Between Car Dependency and the Built Environment

open access: yesUrban Planning, 2023
Car-dominated daily travel has caused many severe and urgent urban problems across the world, and such travel patterns have been found to be related to the built environment. However, few existing studies have uncovered the nonlinear relationship between

Data fusion algorithms for density reconstruction in road transportation networks [PDF]

open access: yes2015 54th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (CDC), 2015
This paper addresses the problem of density reconstruction in traffic networks with heterogeneous information sources. The network is partitioned in cells in which vehicles flow from their origin to their destination. The state of the network is represented by the densities of vehicles in each cell.Density estimation is of crucial importance in future ...

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Road infrastructure in the regions of the Slovak Republic and Poland

open access: yesBulletin of Geography. Socio-Economic Series, 2016
One of the important assumptions and factors of social and economic development of countries and their regions is road infrastructure. This is particularly true in countries where road transport is the largest component of overall transportation, such as
