The use of cement concrete pavements for roads, depending on climatic conditions

open access: yesTehnički Glasnik, 2019
The development of road network infrastructure is an important component of the economic development of the European Union. Updating of the road network contributes to the integration of the economies of countries into a coherent whole.

Magnetic Force Microscopy Signatures of Higher‐Order Skyrmions and Antiskyrmions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic force microscopy operated under vacuum conditions enables the qualitative identification of higher‐order skyrmions and antiskyrmions in Co/Ni multilayers at room temperature. Distinct stray‐field contrast signatures arise from vertical Bloch lines and complex domain‐wall configurations.

Road pavement density measurements using ground penetrating radar (GPR): simulation analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
This paper describes a simulation of Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) nondestructive method at frequency range of 1.7-2.6 GHz to predict density for various road pavement samples.

Stacking‐Engineered Magnonic Topology and Transport in Honeycomb Homobilayers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Topological magnons have emerged as a promising platform for dissipationless bosonic transport. However, a straightforward and effective strategy to engineer such topological states in real materials has yet to be fully realized. Here, a general scheme for controlling magnonic topological states via stacking engineering in van der Waals ...

Research and Evaluation of Methods for Determining Deformation Modulus of Road Subgrade and Frost Blanket Course

open access: yesThe Baltic Journal of Road and Bridge Engineering, 2008
Pavement structural strength is one of the main indices determining pavement ability to carry traffic loads. In determining deformation modulus of pavement structure the static and dynamic non-destructive methods are worldwide used, however, in many ...

Sampietrini stone pavements: Distress analysis using pavement condition index method [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In several Italian cities, it is possible to find historical pavements such as the Sampietrini pavements, which are mainly located in the center of the city of Rome.

Permeable Pavement Road Map Workshop and Proposed Road Map for Permeable Pavement [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
In early 2017, the University of California Pavement Research Center (UCPRC) and the National Center for Sustainable Transportation (NCST), working with the Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute (ICPI), identified gaps in knowledge and other barriers to wider implementation that were perceived to be holding back the full potential for deployment of ...

Asymmetric Contact Engineering for Bottleneck‐Free Transport in 2D MoS2 Field‐Effect Transistor

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Performance of 2D semiconductor transistors is limited by carrier transport bottlenecks arising from specific device geometries. By identifying this structural limitation, a bottleneck‐free asymmetric transistor architecture (BATA) is introduced to improve carrier transport.

Correlation of the Road Rater and the Dynatest Falling Weight Deflectometer, MLR-91-04, 1991 [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
The Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD) has become the "standard" for deflection testing of pavements. Iowa has used a Road Rater since 1976 to obtain deflection information.
