2D Magnetic and Topological Quantum Materials and Devices for Ultralow Power Spintronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
2D magnets and topological quantum materials enable ultralow‐power spintronics by combining robust magnetic order with symmetry‐protected, Berry‐curvature‐driven transport. Fundamentals of 2D anisotropy and spin‐orbit‐coupling induced band inversion are linked to scalable growth and vdW stacking.

Consequences of long-term infrastructure decisions—the case of self-healing roads and their CO2 emissions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
What could be the reduction in greenhouse gas emissions if the conventional way of maintaining roads is changed? Emissions of greenhouse gases must be reduced if global warming is to be avoided, and urgent political and technological decisions should be ...

Color Routing and Beam Steering of Single‐Molecule Emission with a Spherical Silicon Nanoantenna

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We experimentally demonstrate broadband directional emission from single molecules using a single spherical silicon nanoparticle assembled via DNA origami. By varying nanoparticle (NP) size and emitter position, we achieve unidirectional emission, beam steering, and color routing at the nanoscale, revealing modal interference as the underlying ...

Polymer Infiltration Into SURMOF Channels Enables Hydrophobic and Solid‐Like Slippery Functional Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We report a polymer‐chain insertion strategy to fabricate pore‐threaded MOF thin films with precisely tuned surface chemistry and wettability. Grafting n‐alkane chains into the pillared layer Cu2(bdc)2(dabco) MOF thin film's vertical nanochannels enhances water stability, and induces hydrophobicity and lubricant‐free, solid‐like slippery behavior ...

Estimating the effect of semi-transparent low-height road traffic noise barriers with ultra weak variational formulation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The ultra weak variational formulation (UWVF) approach is used to study the effect of semi-transparent road traffic noise barriers of limited height. This numerical method is extended to simulate sound propagation through a porous medium, based on the ...

Light Activated Induction of Cuproptosis in Resistant Cancer Cells Using Polymeric BODIPY Nanoparticles for Photoactivated Chemotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents a photo‐responsive nanoparticle platform that precisely triggers copper‐dependent cuproptotic cell death in (drug‐resistant) cancer cells. The system remains stable and inactive in the dark but releases cytotoxic species upon red‐light irradiation, achieving potent activity in drug‐resistant breast cancer cells.

Asphalt concrete pavement strengthening and modelling of its effect on road evenness/Asfaltbetonio dangų stiprinimas ir jo įtakos kelio lygumui modeliavimas

open access: yesJournal of Civil Engineering and Management, 1999
Lithuania has a sufficiently well-developed road network, the quality of which still falls very much behind the standards used in the EU. The process of pavement distress is gradually accelerated by the following factors: a considerable increase in the ...

DNA‐Origami‐Assembled Rhodium Nanoantennas for Deep‐UV Label‐Free Single‐Protein Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Deep‐UV autofluorescence of single proteins in DNA origami‐based rhodium nanoantennas. Precisely positioned within the plasmonic nanogap, proteins retain their native state while their intrinsic emission is strongly amplified, enabling label‐free single‐molecule detection and opening new opportunities for highly sensitive and specific biosensing ...

Research and Evaluation of Methods for Determining Deformation Modulus of Road Subgrade and Frost Blanket Course

open access: yesThe Baltic Journal of Road and Bridge Engineering, 2008
Pavement structural strength is one of the main indices determining pavement ability to carry traffic loads. In determining deformation modulus of pavement structure the static and dynamic non-destructive methods are worldwide used, however, in many ...

Pengaruh Perubahan Temperatur terhadap Kekesatan Jalan pada Perkerasan Lentur [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Road is an important infrastructure to support transportation activities. Roads are the most commonly used transportation facilities by most people. Traffic problems that impact on the weakening of some sectors, especially the economy, so the road also ...
