Analysis and Simulation of Road Profiles
Journal of Transportation Engineering, 1996The power spectral density (PSD) estimate is a parameter commonly used to characterize the acceleration of vehicles and, in conjunction with closed-loop random vibration controllers, to simulate the transport environment. The vertical acceleration experienced by the loading tray of road transport vehicles is mainly a function of the type of suspension,

Simulation of Road Surface Profiles
Journal of Transportation Engineering, 2001This paper presents a novel technique for the simulation of shock and vibrations related to road surface irregularities. The technique is based on a recently developed universal road profile classification scheme, which is one of the main outcomes of a project aimed at better understanding the statistical nature of road surfaces and their ...

A Regenerative Road Load Simulator
SAE Technical Paper Series, 1984<div class="htmlview paragraph">The design, control and performance of a versatile regenerative road load simulator for laboratory use is described. The arrangement of the unit provides two separate controllable dynamometers for testing a wide range of conventional, electrical and hybrid propulsion systems and transmission components.

A simulation of a road scraper control
Proceedings of 4th IEEE International Workshop on Advanced Motion Control - AMC '96 - MIE, 2002The automatic control system of the road scraper is based on a 6-D positioning system which measures the position and the orientation of the front frame. Measured information is compared with the numerical road design data, and the control system calculates the desired positions for the cutting blade of the road scraper.

On the simulation of arterial road networks
2020Traffic simulation models have become an increasingly important tool for investigating vehicular dynamics in arterial networks. In this thesis, we study three distinct, but related, topics in the field of traffic simulation. Specifically, we study calibration of traffic models via Approximate Bayesian Computation (ABC); the form of link travel time ...

0010 Simulation On The Road On A Budget
Technical and innovation forum, 2014Aims and specific learning outcomes for the works At the end of the workshop the observer will be able to control any mannequin wirelessly, including those tethered such a SimMan Classic, using any android, iOS or windows device. This will enable simulation to be carried out independent of any Trust or institution network, and remotely control ...

Road Vehicle Driving Simulator
2012This chapter concerns the design of a human-in-the-loop road vehicle driving simulator. The key components of the driving simulator are the vehicle dynamic model, Stewart platform (parallel manipulator), real-time controller, visual animation system, and human–machine interface. In this chapter, the vehicle model developed in Chap. 6 has been used. The

Simulation of Line of Road Operations
2015In its simplest form, the operations of a railroad can be split into two disciplines: line of road operations and terminal operations. This chapter focuses on the management of line of road operations. Railroad management devotes the largest amount of analytic effort to this discipline, and tools exist for its analysis.

A regenerative road load simulator [PDF]
The design, control and performance of a versatile, minimum energy dissipating regenerative road load simulator for laboratory use is described. The arrangement of the unit provides two separate controllable dynamometers for testing a wide range of conventional, electrical and hybrid propulsion systems and transmission components.
