Statistics of road traffic noise
Journal of Sound and Vibration, 1971Abstract Freely flowing traffic is modeled by randomly distributed sources on a line. Statistical parameters of the noise emitted from point sources of equal strength are derived in terms of the cumulants of the intensity normalized by its mean.

Prediction of Road Traffic Noise
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1972A computer model for the prediction of noise from freely flowing road traffice is described. The model allows one to account for simple statistics of point sources (spatial distribution and radiated sound power) and for sound propagation with attenuation, diffraction, and reflection.

Frequency curves of road traffic noise
Journal of Sound and Vibration, 1974Based on statistical properties of the noise from freely flowing traffic on a long road, an approximate formula is derived for the distribution of sound pressure levels. Distribution functions calculated from this formula check well with examples of skew distributions evaluated from field measurements.

Noise from road traffic (interrupted flow)
Journal of Sound and Vibration, 1977An equation for predicting l10 levels in urban streets has been derived from an analysis of measurements made at 190 sites in Edinburgh and elsewhere. The validity of the equation has been confirmed by an analysis of 134 measurements made in Sheffield and Rotherham. This equation included traffic variables which are at present difficult to predict, and

Road Traffic Noise and Cognition
Noise pollution, especially from road traffic, is linked to health issues, with limited research on its effects on children’s cognition. This summary is about how road traffic noise affecgs cognition.E Mahiban Ross, D Beula Jeba Malar

Annoyance from simulated road traffic noise
Journal of Sound and Vibration, 1979A laboratory study was carried out to investigate the relation between road traffic noise and annoyance with special reference to the number of noisy events. Each noise condition lasted 30 minutes and consisted of pink noise which was shaped with respect to frequency and time in order to simulate cars and trucks passing by on a nearby road.
